K20634 - George Foreman Lean Mean Spin Frying Machine
george foreman deep fryer
In aug 2009 I bought 2 George Foreman deep fryers. My daughters spin quit working after being used twice. Last week the whole thing quit working. Mine is not heating correctly after being used three time. What a disappointment after spending 231.50
We love it
I had been looking for the perfect deep fryer for sometime now. I have stomach sensitivity to grease. So this seemed like the perfect solution to my proflem. My husband is a gaget freak..He loves anykind of kitchen appliance. So, I basically bought this for him, we have used it almost 5 times since we got it last week. We are loving it,, no grease on the counters, and in my stomach .. the spin feature is awesome. My grandkids thinks it is the coolest thing. the only issue was wished the basket was larger, but it cooks so fast, not a problem filling it again with your choice of food. Would highly recomment.
Love that spinner!
I read the reviews but, I wanted a deepfryer that wasn't too big or too expensive. Well, I've already used this for french fries and chicken. I loved the drumsticks. The basket is small but, it keeps a steady temp and is very quick. I figured out how to do the spinner and it really took a lot of grease out of the food. I didn't have a problem with food tearing apart but, I'm cooking frresh foods not frozen. I recommend this to everyone. Especially get it while you can at this price. Another place has it for almost double the price. Give it a try.
There is a learning curve with this fryer, but after you have it figured out, it is really fun....I made ravioli. Beware when you are spinning the food and don't put the spin on high if you have filled pasta. Now I'm looking for things to fry. The food doesn't taste a bit 'fried-just yummy.
Love this fryer!
I know there's alot of complaints about the fryer basket being too small for big families but what's not mentioned is that the smaller interior heats up much faster than a large frying machine so you can quickly make 2 or 3 batches in the time it would take to heat up and fry one basket in a larger fryer. Not to mention, the smaller fryer uses less oil, which if you use olive oil like we do, it can get expensive with a large fryer. One thing to note, the outside of this fryer is pretty big but the inside is small... and it's a heavy-duty fryer.
QVC's $75 pricetag is awesome! Everywhere else it will be $100+ if not $150.
I haven't had any issues with food falling apart and we've used it for ravioli, fried okra, hush puppies, fries, fish sticks, homemade chicken nuggets, etc. (although we have not tried cheese sticks). It truly does knock A LOT of the grease out.
I read the one comment about the basket not staying up out of the grease. I, too, had this problem until I realized I didn't have the grooves of the basket handle lined up into the inset areas of the fryer.. once I did this - problem solved! Love this product! If you don't mind making a few baskets instead of one huge basket then you'll most likely love this item!
Best Fryer Ever
Purchased this in October of 2009. Have used it many times. Hardly any grease because of the spin cycle. Took it to my one of my sister's house last night for New Year's Eve. We cooked breaded oysters, lots of fish and a bag of tater tots and a bag of crispy french fries. Two of my sisters were so impressed with the flavor and the fact that they did not get stomach aches from the grease and headaches from the greasy smell you get from other fryers when cooking. Clean up is such a snap. And I took both sets of the buffet servers I purchased from QVC and the food stayed warm all evening. Just leave the lids off part way on the buffet servers and the deep fried foods will not get soggy. Everything was great!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You need to have the handle in the guide track!
This is a great product. Works really well and produces amazing food. If the basket does not stay up, it is because you haven't put the handle in the track. This is a safety feature, but it's easy not to do it and think it doesn't work right.
SENT IT BACK
Great concept but not what you'd expect. The basket would not stay in place for one thing...always fell back into grease IF it locked in the up position at all. Even on low spin, it tore food apart...even fries that were crispy fried. Timers are dial and not accurate. Would turn off before you wanted it to. Basket size is NOT family friendly. Had to make 3-4 batches instead of the 1-2 for family fries...just not good for family size cooking to eat at the same time. Ours is used for fries and snack type foods mostly, not heavier things like chicken that may have not tore apart in the spin.
WHEN the basket worked, it did draw out a lot of the grease so I so wanted this to work but it is not what expected and a waste of time with having to cook many times more to get amount needed, re-cooking items that got tore apart then having to fish the little bits out so they'd not burn in the oil, the cleaning up to return it. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!
I PURCHASED ONE OF THESE FROM QVC AND RETURNED IT DUE TO IT COMING TO MY HOUSE DAMAGED. THE RUBBER ON THE BOTTOM WAS COMING OFF, AMONG OTHER THINGS. I ORDERED ANOTHER ONE BECAUSE I REALLY WANTED TO TRY THIS PRODUCT. WELL TRIED THE SECOND ONE AND WAS NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL THE QUALITY IS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED FROM A GEORGE FOREMAN OR QVC PRODUCT. SECOND ONE WAS SENT BACK TOO. I WILL TRY A DIFFERENT BRAND NEXT TIME.
I purchased this item in a store almost a year ago. It is great, food does not come out greasy because of the spin cycle (the concept is almost like a washing machine on spin cycle) and cooks fast. It's the best fryer I ever had. - Madeline, NY
