Genius Salad Chopper 19 Cup 6-pc Food Prep System
CHOP TILL YOU DROP
I love this Genius chopper because it all fits in one bowl and then can be mixed and stored in the same bowl, it's called simplify your life.
I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS FOR ANYONE WHO COOKS, AS A GIFT.
this is the best i have brought so many different thing to cut, and dice up and by far this is the best picking up another for my niece
Easy and no mess
Made quick work of slicing cucumbers and onions for my salad...would be nice if it could do thicker slices(maybe another blade option) I did get the extra shredding blade and chopper for smaller dice which made making coleslaw salad easy too(just cut the cabbage into quarters and they fit well. NOTE: use the hand guard when using the mandolin blade!!!
I ordered this because, quite frankly, I just can't afford an electric food processor right now and I have a 1/4 acre garden with produce coming off.
The first thing I tried was slicing cucumbers for pickles and that's when the first problem arose. The slicing top just does not make thick enough slices for pickles unless you want them to be thin enough to see through. Then I tried for summer squash slices. Same problem. I should have learned with the cucumbers. I also tried slicing onions. The problem I had with those was that the blade isn't wide enough for a decent-sized onion. That blade is sharp and makes short work of slicing veggies, though, as long as they aren't too big around and you want thin slices.
And then we got to the chopping. Oh, my. I tried to chop zucchini small enough for zucchini bread. I eventually DID get it chopped, but it was a chore and the squash had to be in rather small chunks. And I more or less had to hug the thing -I can't get the infamous suction to work, either- and keep turning not only the handle, but the whole darn machine. It does do a beautiful job of chopping onions, though.
So it's back to the old -and I DO mean old- faithful slicer and tiny electric chopper for me.
Sorry, folks, but this just isn't worth it.
I bought this hoping it would be great. Did not disappoint and I use it quite a bit. Love it all!
it is handy
I have this system and have used it a few times. It definitely does make chopping several items at a time much easier and less messy. Wish there was an additional blade size even smaller than the ones included. Would like to be able to dice some things in much smaller pieces. Cleaning it up does take some time, even with the "easy" cleaning button on the top of the system. Don't get me wrong, I will continue to use it and grumble when cleaning it--but it sure does save your knuckles and fingertips. You just need to factor in the amount of time needed to pre-prep your foods for chopping.
Love the blue! So easy to use and clean. Great job Chef Tony.
So Much fun to Use and Easy Too!
I purchased one for two of my daughters-in-law's and one for myself for Mothers Day! I can't pry the thing from my husband Bob's hands. He uses it for fruit salad and French fries and just about anything you want to make. It's so quick and easy. Now one of my niece's knows about it and I will be ordering another for her too.
what a time saver
I purchased one of these for myself and loved it so much I ordered 4 more for my daughters and daughter-in-law. I used to hate to do strawberries, it would take longer to clean and cut them, this time I had my salad chopper and in no time I was done, and keeping them in the same bowl was very nice. This would make a great shower gift for any new bride. Thank you

sad and disappointed
used it 4 times and the bowel broke, Now I don't have one
recently bought myself one.showed if off and bragged about how easy and quick this chopper worked too my sister.can cut onions up before my eyes water. she loved mine,so I m getting her one for a birthday present
Hard To Use
It looked way easier on TV. I had to push very hard to chop some veggies. (I am 45 so it wasn't as bad for me as it was for my 68 year old mother!) Forget using it to chop green peppers! They smashed flat and stuck in the blades. I am going to experiment a little more and hope that it is easier to chop other fruits and veggies.
