Great Navigation
I purchased this device so that my daughter could stop using her cell phone as our navigation unit. WE love it! She's going to do the update overnight at my suggestion because I noticed some of the negative comments were regarding the time it takes to update. This is the FIRST navigation device I've ever owned, but I would highly recommend it. I'm finally out of the dark ages of using paper maps and mapquest for directions. YAY!

I like the new GPS because the screen is larger than my old one and it has more features and the lifetime maps and updates is nice too.

Broke after a single use
I had some problems entering data but finally figured it out. I took it on a trip and ended up not using it. It sat in a bag on the seat the entire trip. When I took it out of the bag, the inner screen was fractured and the device no longer worked. I had purchased and used a device protector bag from Garmin which apparently is not effective. This is, apparently, too fragile for normal use. I will continue to use my older Garmin which I have owned and liked for several years.

Liked it at first....
I used this for a number of months and was pretty happy with it. Then it began to take me in circles on very common routes. Its ability to work around traffic is a joke. I recently used it on a trip out of the area and was not happy. While it got me to the city, once there it could not give accurate directions in town. I finally had to pull over and use my iPad for looking up the directions to the hotel. This is my second gps unit, and it will most likely be my last. What good are lifetime maps when the unit cannot utilize them adequately?

Works Well For Me
I bought this in November of 2012. My older Garmen Nuvi was not working well and didn't have traffic warnings. It has worked very well for me. The signal come up very quickly. I like that is has a split screen and shows an image of "exit signs" so I know what to look for when on a highway. I have not tried to update the map, so I can't comment on that. I feel the price was reasonable. It was well worth my piece of mind and feeling of security while driving.

Terrific GPS-Best One Yet!!!
I have had the 2555LMT for over 6 months and use it constantly. I love the traffic portion that redirects you when there is a delay, which came in handy recently. The GPS said to save 16 minutes follow a new route which I did and saved more than 16 minutes. I've had other Garmins and never had problems and if you register this device with them you will be notified when there is an update ready, which is typically at the end of each quarter. Hook it up to your computer, start it going and come back a couple hours later to an updated GPS. I disagree with some others in that I never had a problem with tech support from Garmin. Only needed them twice and was back up and running in only minutes. Great product and I couldn't be happier. Ken at the Jersey Shore.

Love it!!!
This is absolutely awesome! Never having owned a GPS before, I was happy to find this to be easy to understand and use. I love the traffic feature. The road ahead turns yellow to alert you of traffic and a message with the question as to whether you would like to detour around the traffic also appears. Another feature I love, when approaching an exit on the highway, the screen splits into two showing exactly what the exit sign looks like. This might not sound very important to some, but to me it is wonderful to be able see exactly where I need to exit. I am very pleased with this Garmin GPS unit!!!!

Just stopped working!!!
Less than 4 months this thing stopped working! Just wouldn't turn on at all!

So Smart It's Scary Sometimes
This was a Christmas gift for my husband, who had an older version with ancient maps. We use it all the time and some of the alerts it has given us while on major interstates have been very helpful -- again, sometimes it seems just too smart but we'll take it!! The large screen is perfect for larger man hands, especially older men with little patience for gadgets

It is a good GPS the product got here on time and I'm am enjoying it just don't why I have to download stuff that takes so long to download, but overall qvc is nice with it

Garmin Support
It is a good thing Garmin has such pleasant support because I had to call often on my Garmin nuvi 1490LMT which worked for just under 2 months past the warranty, then stopped acquiring satellites. Repeatedly. If you have to call support, use speaker phone because you will be on hold for about 30 minutes. Unhappily, not even a master reset cured its ills, and the nuvi is now ready to be recyled--as garbage.
