Garmin nuvi 2555LMT 5" GPS with Lifetime Maps and HD Traffic
I like this GPS,just couldn't get it to update, not sure why.I will try again,I tried when I first got it,even had my cousin try, still wouldn't update.Have not tried since,I always forget, but will try to remember.
I live in Dallas where it is very confusing to get around. This saves my life all the time. People below rating poorly obviously have something set wrong, due to even if i make a wrong turn, it immediately gives me another route to get to my destination. It sure beats the Tom Tom, tried that first nd returned it.
Garmin Support Number?
The screen died with in the year warranty...does anyone know where I return it or does anyone have the Garmin support number? Thanks!
I have had a few GPS units this is without a doubt the worst i have ever owned..recently had to go from NC to NY when my Mother passed away.....it got confused in DC and kept taking me off course...and other places along my route..thank goodness i knew where i was and didnt let the thing get me lost..coming back to NC the same thing...got across the NC state line and it completely got confused took me way out of my way..i contacted Garmin and they said for me to update.well i tried updating before i left and it said i was fine..when i got back i did sign in and it started the update process then it said i needed a SD card as the Memory in the unit couldnt take the update..Do yourselves a favor and DONT buy this thing..Last week went to Wilmington NC and it got lost...unit is worthless
Died after less than 1 year of use
Well, while the unit was working it was great, but while out of town on a trip recently, I noticed the unit had the wrong date and time. When I tried to fix it, I couldn't. The next day it was dead. We had to got to Staples to buy another GPS.
I have owned other Garmin units and had no trouble. Am going to see what Garmin tech support says, and hopefully I can return it to them since it has been over 30 days since it was bought from QVC.
The best GPS I have ever bought.
I love this. I can find my way home from anywhere!!
We just returned from a 22 state road trip out West to all the National Parks and so much more. We had an older Garmin that was very annoying with her constant "recalculating" but I figured we needed a GPS for our road trip (since much of the time you are without data on your cell phone in the mountains, so you can't depend on that) This Garmin model is wonderful and found us the correct routes always and found us motels even when we were in the "wilderness". Not once did she mess us up and we never had to hear "recalculating" once! What a great purchase.
If you've ever been lost in another state
You need one of these. I ordered this just prior to a trip to a state 3 states away. Never been there but ended up arriving after dark. This little machine was a life saver because it knew exactly where I was and told me how to work my way back into the hidden side streets in the small town I was in - all to get to the location I thought I had directions to. Google & Yahoo maps - MOVE OVER Garmin is the best!
The Garmin would only worked for two days and then I could not get it to turn on. I had to return it and will be purchasing a TomTom..
Worst Product Ever!!
This product is AWFUL!!!!!!! This product could not ever get me to my own home!! Never again will I purchase a Garmin product, back to Tom Tom products!!!
Garmin dont buy
This Garmin was horrible.....I bought this thinking it would guide me on vacation through part of the country, I've been been....instead it took me through all the secondary roads...If anyone has ever traveled the roads in WV.. They know what I'm writing about...I had to use my smart phone to guide me...I've sent it back...I had an older Garmin and it was 20x better..I'm sorry, I've ever sold it. Garmin has lost all credibility with me
My brother owns one of these so I hope he can set mine up; however if you are not a tech expert you can forget any help from the Garmin site, which is listed as unsafe to download from by my computer security. After an hour of frustration, I am back to square one. If I want lifetime maps, I believe I will have to pay an additional $149 according to the website. Also, these lifetime updates seem to have an expiration date on them.
My brother has a Garmin and it seemed easy to use, but it is not easy to set up. If my brother can get this sorted out, I will keep it. If not, I will have to return it. Most sites like this have chat lines for help. Garmin provides ring-around -the rosy vague and unclear instructions.
