Just want to say, I read this book cover to cover, loved all of it, TRULY! I was inspired to go put "magic" in my own garden. It makes you feel like the world is "your" garden, through these pictures, and lovely descriptions. You laugh, you're in awe, your eyes are opened to beauty of all that is nature. Great gift idea, RIGHT?!!

I love how detailed description and information on the plants in this book are, I cannot wait to receive all plants that I have ordered to know exactly how to place them in my yard.. Phenomenal book.

What an inspirational book. Just beautiful. I especially love Phillip's quote about 'magic' not being what we create, but what we notice. Words to live by. Magic really is all around us.
Thank you, Phillip

Nice photos and descriptions. Gives good ideas for your yard.
Rated 2 out of 5 by linkhigh Great coffee table book, but no "how to"
Gorgeous huge photos! A great coffee table book for skimming through. The photos are all of large estates with land area measured in acres, not square feet. This is a terrific portfolio of the work of the designer.
However, as a gardening resource, it leaves a lot to be desired. There is a lot of "here is what I did", but nothing about "and here is how you can do it, too". Plants featured in the photographs are not often identified. Photos may or may not be captioned. Most of these landscapes would require a full-time gardener to maintain. The deal-breaker for me is that I could not replicate any of this in my yard because I live in a different planting zone.
If you are just looking for inspiration because you have spring fever, this book is great!
