The tv does serve its purpose as a functioning television but you will not get 1080p. Enjoy the fact that I did not have to purchase a DVD player as one is built in but even with a HDMi cord the highest quality of picture is 720p. Use this television for my nephews and nieces room when they sleep over.

TV came well packaged, nothing broken.....however when putting on the base ignore the directions on the back where it says front this way and back this way. It won't hold the weight of the set. It is exactly the opposite. Thanks to GPX customer service. Perfect gift for anyone.

TV came with no manual. Picture quality is horrible. The DVD player quit after three months. Now I am stuck with junk and out a lot of money. This was a Christmas gift, how embarrassing.

I bought it for a friend. We are sending it back immediately. Picture quality is poor. Sound could not be any worse. Slow in scanning for channels. No way to adjust tint that I can see. Manual is of no real help. Stand is more difficult to put on than it should be. Not satisfied at all.

I like having the all in one tv with the dvd player built in. I already have a red 32" GPX, had a red 22 " GPX tv that I gave to a college student. I wanted a larger one for the den.
However, very disappointed with the 42" tv. Not only is the picture quality blurred, it's difficult to adjust the color quality which varies significantly from program to program, and seems to be preset that can't be adjusted manually.
The only display setting that allows the picture to fit the width of the 42" frame is wide screen and at times there's a 2 " white band across the top and bottom of the screen depending on the program, or commercial. The picture in the cinema, & zoom settings are too large for the screen, can't read the tv guide. If I watch a program on the normal setting it's like watching a 22" screen and not utilizing the full 42" screen.
Also you have to press the buttons on the remote multiple times to get it to perform a function. Needless to say I'm returning this one.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Toni J Very poor picture quality!
When I first turned on this TV, the picture was blurry and the sound quality was not that good. The picture quality improved a little when playing a movie on my Blu-Ray, but not much. I decided to return it and stick to my 10 year old box of a TV (with better picture quality) until I found something better.
