G.I.L.I. Sleeveless V-neck Faux Wrap Dress
Runs Very Very Small
This was my first purchase of the G.I.L.I. brand and am not impressed. I ordered my usual size which is a large and this dress fit like a small, I barely got it on and when I did it was gross, lol. The sizing is not consistent with QVC sizing at all. I compared this to a Susan Graver skirt I have and like I said above, the sizing is way off. If this is what GILI is, I don't want any of it. What a pain having to send this junk back due to improper sizing issues that are not the customers fault!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shows off your curves!
I took a chance on this dress and ordered it in the blue. I was skeptical after all the reviews I read, but it fits great. If you're an hourglass shape, this is a definite must have! I ordered in my regular size in the blue and love it. It's very flattering with or without a shrug. I will tell you that the front does hang a little lower than the back and the hem is unfinished, so if this is a deal breaker to you then this isn't the dress for you. I love mine though!!
Runs very small, very clingy
First, I was disappointed at the condition in which this arrived: wrinkled and wadded up in a bag. The same day, I received D&Co shirts that were crisp and clean and flat in the same type of packaging. This dress had a tissue paper folded inside it and the tissue was wadded up, too. So the dress was completely wrinkled. I tried it on, and it's really tight, at least two sizes too small, although I bought my regular QVC size. I tried on the D&Co shirts in the same size, and they are perfect. This is going back. Too bad.
Love this dress!
I ordered this in large in cherry. I just was able to order it in cobalt. I am a 12 or 14 and the dress drapes very nicely (I am a 38 D). The material is yummy and the color (cherry) is wonderful. You do need a bra that fits well and preferably, one without any wires - I have a smooth Rhonda Sheer bra and the dress looks wonderful with that type of plain, non-wire bra. Can't wait for Spring!
So Good, I Bought Three!
This is a great, functional and wearable dress. I consider it an excellent value. Thank you!
Love this Dress
At first I was skeptical to purchase this when I saw Lisa Robertson wearing it, because
she looks great in everything. But I'm so glad I got it. The minute I put it on I loved it.
It is so flattering the way it falls across the body and the length is perfect. I wear it with
a cute shrug since I don't like to expose my arms and it looks perfect. I love the fact that
it's a little more low cut in the front. It is a little heavy to carry, so I'm concerned about
packing it for my cruise in October, but I'll just have to leave something else out of the
Instead of it being on clearance, they should be bringing it back in other colors, like
plum, brown and navy.
Not My Style
Got this in cherry xs and tried it on immediately.
It hugs my upper back and not flattering. It would look good on a ballerina or someone tall, thin and with perfect posture.
Gave it 2 stars because someone out there might find it flattering but I returned it.
Got It Love It!
Seriously though! Love the jersey knit and the fact that it's lined so no one can see through it. So soft and comfortable, doesn't show the bra straps, and drapes nicely. Unfortunately it is a bit too long on me as I am only 5 ft, tall so I'm just going to have it hemmed. Love the fact that it is comfortable and versatile. I can dress it up and wear a pair of heels or throw a pair of sandals on and run errands if I need to. Thanks!
Going right back
There is not much I can say about this dress positive so I won't say anything other than tried it on and took it off and instantly put it back in the bag and sending back immediately! Not good at all.
perfect fit , this dress is great if you have full breast and a little wider waistline than shapely it will mass your imperfections
cheap cheap cheap
There is a reason this dress is on clearance. I should have listened to the reviews. The material is cheap and the wrap is funky and doesn't fit well. Going back....
When I first saw this dress air, I thought the material was a lot better than it is in person. You can absolutley dress it up!! HOWEVER, the material is so light and flimsy, which is great for summer, but not the type of dress I would wear to an important affair. It seemed different to me on air, but I still love it (I own all 3 colors!). It is a great dress for the price it is now on clearance. When I bought my first two colors, I think it was a bit pricey for jersey tee type material which had an unfinished hem....or lack of hem in fact! (Unless tha is a look they were going for?) It just looks a little unfinished so I had all 3 colors hemmed, and now it looks more "put together." At 5'7" with long legs, I was shocked how long the dress was on me. I felt it made my legs look shorter to cut it below the knee. I think it gives off a leaner look when the dress is at the mid-knee or at the top pf the knee....which gives one a longer/leaner appearance. (Or some may want to go right above the kneee, but at 40yo, I won't go too short.....maybe five yrs ago I would have! : ) The dress is flattering. There is so much one can do with it. Dress it up, down, or in between. I wore it to a friend's pool party in August, and out to a nice dinner this fall. My husband loves this dress so much that he begged me to wear it in black on Thanksgiving. I was worried I would freeze, but for the NY area, we had a mild Thanksgiving, until late night when I did freeze! But I a glad I wore it. I wore it in black with my Bronzo Italia Rolling Circle Pendant with 36" Rolo Link Chain, Bronzo watch, and bangles along with equstrian style black boots. I usually wear a dressier outfit for Thanksgiving, but it looked fun, fashionable, and fantastic. I got a gaziilion compliments. I put on my black Racehl Zoe faux fur vest on with it when I got cold (yes, vest.......the vest actualy kept me toasty). It was a different look that I go for in almost winter...but it was fun. If they have your size at this price, I would grab it! Great dress, and so much to do with it. It is falttering. I had to size down. I take an XXS in QVC sizing, but with GILI I tenmd to take an XS. In this dress, I needed the XXS sicne it was roomy in the mi-section and hip area makingme look like I gained weight! I sized down & it fit perfectly, Still roomy, but not tight by any means. I am 5'7, 122 lbs, and bra size is 34/36C if that helps you w/ sizing. GILI IS MY FAVORITE LINE. Thanks Lisa for everything you bring us...I am so appreciative. I miss the LRS on off season!!!!
