Frye Leather Pull On Ankle Boots - Harness 8R is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love,Love These boots are Frye Co. at it’s best! I received my boots for Christmas and had wanted them for quite awhile.....they did not disappoint. They do run a 1/2 size large and are a little heavier than most Frye boots but these are a work horse boot that will out last most boots. I find good quality boots generally need a break in period after that they become a go to boot. I own 7 pairs of Frye boots and love them all but these are definitely my favorite!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Happy this is not what i expected at all. too small, and too short. even though i sized down like other review said, it seemed to not be Frye quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have your size 8 This is the highest quality of boot. Absolutely love it. The 8 i ordered is way to loose in the ankle so I'm sending it back. Don't know whether to go down a half or a whole size. It would be so nice if they had mentioned this on air. Its going to cause a lot of turmoil. Why couldn't the host say something about this? Everybody is going to have to return it. Why would QVC not disclose bad sizing?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Love These are fantastic. Yes, like the other reviews they run big. I sized down a half size and got the 6.5. So glad I did. They fit great and the quality is fantastic. I put them on at home and left them on for a while and watched some TV to allow the leather to stretch. Also the sole is rubber which will allow you to not slip on many surfaces. Super cute and great investment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Need To size Boots Accurately! Love everything about the boot...except the erroneous sizing method. This boot is 1 full size too big for a size 9. Please bring them back, since it appears most sizes are sold out and I️ need an 8! Signed, Very Frustrated Customer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Classic Frye Boot This is the classic Frye boot which honors the company's western heritage and should be considered both a fashion and work boot. As such, it is made with high quality, thick leather; has a very stiff toe box (suitable for riding and mucking around in a barn); and thick sole. For best fit, you should size down 1/2 size. In other Frye boots, I am a 6; in this boot, I am a 5 1/2. As noted in the first review, you will need to "break in" your boots. My strategy was to pick a leisurely day to start the process by easing (wrangling) the new boots over thick socks and leaving them on all day. This allowed the leather to soften and stretch. After repeating the process one or two times, the boots molded to my feet and are now very comfortable. I should also mention that the boots are heavy so will take a little bit to get used to walking in. With regular cleaning and oiling, the leather will become more supple and achieve a gorgeous patina. Although this boot is an investment and it is well worth the price and should last for years. Best of all, this particular boot is made in the USA!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Addicted to Frye I own about 30 pairs of Frye boots. I have 3 pairs in this particular style. I am normally a true size 9 in all my shoes and boots EXCEPT for this particular Frye style. I have sized down at least a 1/2 size to an 8.5 and one pair is actually an 8.0. This particular style of Frye boots is a bit heavier in weight. Therefore, you don't want too much heel slippage when you walk. Otherwise, they will feel like they are being sucked off your foot with each step. Take the time to get the correct size. By going down a size or half, you will feel as if you will never get your heel slipped into the boot. Sit down in a chair and be patient. First time getting your foot in is a challenge, but again be patient. This may require a glass of wine. I will sit in a chair and slip my foot in as far as it will go. I then sit there and wait for my boot to warm up and my foot to relax. I then slip my foot in a smidge farther. This may take 20 minutes and 10 times of inching your foot in and then siting back and relaxing, keep repeating the process. Finally the boot gives and your foot slips in. Leave your foot in the boot and let it relax. You can do this process with both boots at the same time or one at a time. Pick and day and time when you plan to be home and watch your favorite show. When I purchased my first pair of Frye Harness boots, this is what the girl in customer service told me to do. You should only have to do this process the first time you put the boots on and possibly a second time. You do not want to do this on a day you are in hurry and running out the door. Also, consider what sock you want to wear with your boot. These boots are a sturdy leather and could make your foot hot if you try to wear a really thick sock. I actually wear a very thin sock with mine. These boots are a classic and an investment, but you will have them forever. Take the time to get the correct fit. The "8" in the boot description refers to the height of the shaft. I have 2 pairs that are 15R (almost a knee boot) and one pair of 8R. There is something about the foot bed of a Frye boot that does not give me foot fatigue at the end of the day. This particular style may be better for a medium to wider foot, as you will see the toe box is very square and wide, and that is part of the reason you can size down. Also because of the sturdier leather, they will take sometime to break in and soften up. Again, they are worth the patience. There are several brands that make this exact style for about 1/2 the price, but they are not the same. Get the Fryes!
