I have had my Fitbit Flex for over two years. I had a charging issue about 6 months ago, but when I called customer service, they were able to reset it and I've had no further problems. I did have to replace the flex band. It started to tear from removing the device for charging after about 15 months. Just ordered a pack of new ones and was ready to go again. It is really important to charge your Fitbit regularly. I walk about 12,000 steps a days and I charge mine about every 5 days. It is also a good idea to clean it periodically because it does get dirty just like a piece of jewelry you wear all the time. I use alcohol wipes to clean. When cleaning, make sure you also wipe off the connector ports as they will also get a film on them that can cause it to stop working. My Fitbit reminds me to get up and move just because it is there. And when I exceed 10,000 steps in one day, I truly love the buzzing and blinking lights ... it's like a "party on your wrist"!!

I have had my Fitbit Flex for 2.5 years. It has worked great, but the charging and maintenance requires some patience. First: it does not come with a guard and you WILL lose it unless you improvise something. I use a rubber band, about 1/8 inch, threaded it through the last hole before the clasp, then fed the rubber band through itself to hold it and after putting on the Fitbit, I then wear the rubber band next to it (see photos). Works well, cheap and lasts about 6 months before rubber band wears out. If your clasp comes undone it then dangles from wrist. Second: you must get in habit of charging it once a week. Not only does this keep it from losing charge, but it reminds you to take it out and clean it. Third: it will get normal gunk on it from wearing. I clean with alcohol wipes, especially cleaning the three gold charging spots. Fourth: if it is not charging, make sure you have cleaned the charging spots; if necessary, take end of paperclip and gently remove build-up off the charging spots. Fifth: after doing all this, make a little platform for it to rest on while it is charging at your computer so it is level and not hanging. Last: the bands DO wear out after about a year of daily use. You can buy a pack of 3 dif't colored bands; makes a great gift if someone wants to get you something.

My first Fitbit ceased to charge up after a few months. I called customer service and they were great about replacing it. However, the bands have a tendency to open even when using a fastener ring and I have lost two devices. I will not bother purchasing another one.

I wear and have worn this item every day since receiving it.
it kept track every day for a while then would stop recording for a week or two.
would charge it up again and even fully charged it will not keep track.
I refuse to purchase another since I do not have confidence that it will work.
it is currently charging again and I will try once more before I give up.

Love my FITBIT...Bought it on TSV. Had one of the bands break, but they sent me a replacement.

I own a Fitbit flex for about 18 month and still love it. I wear mine every day and bought some replacement bands online. I have to agree that they don't last forever, but when mine broke about six month ago I called fitbits customer service and received a replacement. It is a motivational tool, and we all need motivation!!!!

I ordered my Fitbit on January 1st 2015. I love my Fitbit and although I also love my Garmin I tend to go to it instead. However, my second replacement is on its way from Fitbit customer service. I will say that the customer service is exceptional. Both times that my Fitbit has failed, it has been a charging issue so I'm not sure if the problem lies with the Fitbit or the charger. Also, I feel the band needs a more secure clasp. I almost lost mine at a concert venue because the band let go. A nice person pointed out that it had fallen off of my wrist. I had to purchase a band with a buckle clasp and all the pretty colored Fitbit bands I had purchased are simply colorful trash now and a waste of the money I paid for them. Luckily, you can find alternate bands for this product from other vendors. For these reasons, I would not recommend it as a gift for a friend as it seems it is only good for one year.

I had my fitbit for one year and it died. I did a live chat with fitbit and they sent me a brand new one at no charge. They are amazing!!
