I had a difficult time deciding between the Alta and the Charge 2. I finally settled for the Alta because of the smaller size. I especially liked the fact that the Charge counts stairs, but fashion won out! LOL. I find this unit is very accurate. I like the reminders to get up and walk when I have been stuck for long periods at my desk. The text notifications are very handy. I have been wearing the Alta at night too. It is quite interesting to see my sleep habits in graph form on the app. I have purchased all of the strap colors so this can truly be an accessory along with my other stack bracelets. Function meets fashion! I couldn't be happier.

I could not get the wrist band snapped shut with one hand. Kinda defeats the purpose of using it. Sadly, it's going back.

Loved the look and the features of this Fitbit. However the wristband is impossible for me to snap close. Sadly this Christmas present is going back.

I had the Flex before purchasing the Alta. I've had for about six months and like that it has more features on the unit itself than the Flex did. I wear on my non-dominant (left) arm since one of the main reasons I wanted this was for the watch feature. I like that I can scroll through and see number of steps, calories burned, active minutes, and battery level right on the unit without having to go to the website or app on my phone to see progress. It also buzzes if you get a text/phone call and are in proximity. Additionally, I have mine set during the week to wake me up at 5:30 though most times am up before that. I have had sleep issues for a number of years and the sleep tracking has been incredibly useful. I agree that sometimes the band is hard to close, but if done correctly, you won't loose it so that is a good thing. Mine came with a black band and a color of my choice when I purchased and I have bought two other bands (one leather, one metal) so you can dress it up as well. I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't really have the need for a "smart watch" but wants something more than just knowing when you hit your steps per day.

Very comfortable on my wrist. Really enjoy the "get up on take steps" reminder. Not as comfortable to sleep because I don't like sleeping with any type of jewelry on however I have manage for the alarm and sleep tracking.
