For me, fall really is one of the most charming seasons of the year! The leaves turning colors, the bounty of the harvest, and even the crispness of the air just seem so inviting and cozy to me. I was invited to my neighbor's house for dinner this weekend, and I decided to make this cobbler for dessert. I used some beautiful peaches from the market, but you can use 2 cans of peaches instead.
2 cans sliced peaches in syrup
1 stick butter
1 cup self-rising flower
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Drain 1 can of peaches and save the syrup from the other.
Place the butter in a microwavable pie pan and heat until butter is melted.
In a medium bowl, mix the flour and sugar. Stir in the milk and the syrup. Pour the batter over the melted butter in the pie plate. Place the peaches over the batter.
Bake for 1 hour. You'll know the cobbler is done when the batter rises and the crust is a thick, golden-brown color.
