F04735 - EZ TWIST 10'X10' Portable 2-in-1 Gazebo by Playhut
second season going strong
We purchased this last summer and have used it when camping, for garage sales and general use in our yard. It does take two to efficiently open but even kids can hold it up. Also closing takes some practice, but if you can negotiate those pop open sun screens for car windshields you can do this bigger item! We recommend following the directions printed right inside the bag. We've had no problems with poles. but if you need replacements, many camping outlet carry same style poles...just order to correct length. It's also important to use the "guy ropes" that attach to upper corners when set up someplace windy..this will prevent collapsing issue others have mentioned. Do four of the six corners and it's all set for most wind issues. We use heavier duty tent stakes and it's held up well.
I love this item
I have purchaed 2 of these in the past and am going to puchase another for this summer. I use this for every outdoor event we attend and every one is always asking me where I purchased this. Regarding the set up, I find it extreamly easy to errect, granted it is a large item and does require 2 people but we can put this up in under 3 minuets, have shade, shelter anywhere we go. I leave one up all summer for my grandchildren to have shelter from the sun and to still have air flow . Do not hesitate to purchase this item.
TWIST -N- SHOUT
FAR CRY FROM EZ TWIST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Purchased this for my 50th b'day party in June. The DVD that is provided to help the consumer set up item is not accurate. They fail to show set up for this large size. Reason being, you guessed it !!!!!!!!!!! It AIN"T that simple. Guess that's why the vendor nor the host attempt this TASK LIVE on T.V. Once we accomplished, what was and is a challenge our patience was tried over and over again. You guessed it, no sooner than a few hrs. or two the big bad wolf huffed and puffed and blew it down. Oh, not completely. Just one side or another. Now understand, we live in S.C. and your lucky to get a slight breeze cross your path in late June so don't inhale or exhale too close to this "PLAY"hut.
We did not have the temperment to continue to TWIST -N- SHOUT to the same old song and dance. So once again, old reliable (QVC) stood by this consumer and took care of me.
PS. Reading the documents the company (PLAYHUT) carefully encloses with purchase, really unveils the truth about the product and sun damage and wind. (Slight breeze) This is a collapsible shelter of fabric. Needless to say, "Surly this would not have withstood one of my parties". In all do respect, stick with the PUP TENTS. We have purchased those for our grandchildren over the yrs. and they loved them.
Looks Good But Doesn't Work
First let me say I never write reviews. This looked perfect on TV but when you get it home it's a different ball game. It takes more than one person, they don't give all the directions to you on tv or the video they send so there are more steps to putting it up. Any time the wind blows one or more of the sides cave in. Then getting it to close up isn't easy either. Very disappointed with this item. Think twice!
Neat item, I like the fact that you can pop it open and use it or store it in it's bag. Worked for us! It does blow away/blow over if not staked......so not for use on our patio but otherwise 5 stars. :)
I am really disappointed with Playhut. I bought this gazebo and we really do love it. The problem is one of the pushup poles broke. I contacted Playhut directly only to be told they do not have the replacement poles and would have to be put on a waiting list and that it will be some time before they hav e them. That tells me they will NOT have them. Period. I find that ashame after paying over $100.00 for it.
I've purchased two of the e-z twist playhuts. The only thing that could use some improvement is the door opening could be a little lower. Had a few people trip. Also we made a center pole for the inside,so the top stayed up nice that way. Have used it four years now. Love it!!!!!
This is a great Gazebo. Opens very easy. You need two people to open (because of the size) but you can open with one person. This is larger when you see it in person. Heavy Duty poles & structure. Instructions on the storage bag too even though the DVD is helpful.
Waste of Money
I purchased this item to take camping and never used it until my camping trip. It was easy to asseble and I used all of the supports and stakes. I went for a hike and came back and it was completely destroyed. There was a breeze, but it wasn't windy. The side facing the breeze had collapsed and when I stood it back up there was a hole in the top and the pole poking through the hole was broken. I repaired both of these things with duct tape only to have it collapse again and another pole break. I took it down and folded it up and that was the end of my gazebo.
I bought this gazebo for use at our many family summer picnics in Southern California. We used it for the first time this weekend and it was a delightful surprise. Even though I should have, I didn't watch the DVD. My son and I had it out of the bag and standing within 3-4 minutes. Because there was a mild breeze, we decided to use the stakes which took another couple minutes. After six hours of many toddlers and young children playing in and around the gazebo, it was still standing and in wonderful shape. It took about the same 5-6 minutes to fold it back up and stuff back in its holder. Great purchase ... had at least 3 couples wanting to know where I got it. I'd recommend to anyone.
i was so mad when i got the tent.the first time i put it up the zipper broke.
What a Joke!
I was so excited to order this to take with us camping last year. I received the gazebo and took it with us on our camping trip. We opened the case and proceeded to try to put the gazebo up. The tent would not stand up, the top of the tent has no support so it kept falling in and the least amount of wind made the sides go in. A total waste of money.
