Lightweight and balanced, the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer reinvents this beauty basic, putting a digital motor in the handle to produce a controlled, high-velocity airflow for ultra-fast drying power. A microprocessor with intelligent heat control helps prevent extreme heat damage, while the magnetic attachments let you smooth, style, and diffuse with ease. From Dyson.

For best results, use an attachment and dry with the airflow blowing down over hair strands, not perpendicular, to help achieve smooth and soft results. Additionally, because of ultra-fast drying, be mindful of over-drying your hair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Didn't wanna love it! I really didn't want to love it. It's too expensive and I thought a bit of a gimmick. Figured I'd try it and return it. That didn't happen! It has a very high cool factor. LOVE the magnetic attachments, super easy. I didn't think it dried my hair any faster than my old dryer until I tried it without the attachment on. Then it showed it's colors, dried my hair really fast! I have medium length semi-thick hair. I do think my hair has less frizz over time using this dryer. It's not really any quieter than my old dryer, but I like the motor in the handle, a bit less wieldy. I HATE the location of the cold-shot though, they put it on the back side, so I have to use the side of my index finger to push it, instead of the front where I can use my thumb. Not very ergonomic. Price is extreme, but there is a lot of engineering in it, which I actually notice (or just think I do lol) . I figure using it once a day, it costs just over a buck a day for a year. How's that for justification. PROS: Faster dry, magnetic attachments, easier on my hair - less frizz, cool factor, extra accessories CONS: price, cool shot location

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn’t do anything it claimed. It didn’t dry my hair any faster. I have shoulder length curly, thick hair that I dry straight. It took 15-20 minutes to dry. Longer if I wanted it super smooth like a blowout. It felt damaged and was more frizzy than my 20.00 Conair. I returned it for the DryBat. We will see if I like this one. If not, I’ll go back to Target for a dryer,

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth The Money Especially For Daughters I’m a mom of 2 girls. We all have thick hair. The girls have long hair and mine is shoulder length. What use to take 90 mins to do all three of us is now done in 30mins. Yes, it’s that good. The noise is less than a reg hair dryer. I also love that as the girls learn to dry their own hair, they don’t have to worry about burning their scalp, touching a hot dryer and getting their hair sucked into it. The four star is just because it takes a bit to figure out the best way to use it without overdrying. I watched several videos and didn’t get a consistent overview.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Now Love To Blow dry My Hair I have the type of hair that has a mind of its own and I never know how it will look day to day. I spend hours in the morning just to make it presentable. I've been looking at the dyson but didn't want to spend that much. Saw the qvc special so made the purchase. Love it. I can style my hair and dry it so fast. I know love to blow dry my hair!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it. I have thick hair that I wear short or shoulder length depending on my mood. I have been able to put away the curling iron for short hair and straightener for the long hair. Also I do not need to use products for defrizz and smoothing. And the real plus, what took me more than an hour to accomplish with short or long hair now takes less than ten minutes tops. It is a little clunky. Huge power cord. Lots of power even on low. But I am otherwise pleased with the performance that I am willing to overlook that. It is expensive but measured beside all the gadgets and products I do not need anymore it is a good deal. Very pleased with my purchase! Oh and I have greatly decreased my supply of flat brushes and round brushes also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread! This hair dryer is so great, it lets me keep my color, as I had my hair colored a month ago and it has brought out my color, like it was just colored yesterday. It also drys my hair very fast, the reason being is the wind coming out of the unit is so much, the most wind I have seen coming out of a hair dryer before. Very unique, I think everyone should own one or give it a try, you won't be sorry!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do. It but this hair dryer Its been a year now and I am still nursing my hair back to health! I used this hair dryer for 2 1/2 months. The first month, my hair changed texture and went from full, extremely shiny and looking like glass to soft, fluffy and dull. I did not think it was the dryer at first (because why would you think that a $400 hair dryer would cause that). I started buying different products and trying to figure out what was going on. I looked up videos on the dryer and used exactly as recommended; I emailed Dyson on numerous occasions. My hair suddenly started shredding off the shaft...literally shredding and falling out where the most heat was applied. It took 3 weeks to stop the bleeding from the damage but after consultation with my stylist, we knew that it was the Dyson dryer that caused this. My stylist said I was the 3rd Dyson disaster in 3 weeks. I have since spent over $1,000 to repair damage and still have a long way to go. Do not buy a Dyson hair dryer!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love, Love Did I Say Love My Dyson Hair Dryer Let me first say, I know that the Dyson Hair Dryer is very expensive and I would not recommend it if I didn't think it was worth the price, it is. It usually takes me a long time to dry my hair and with the Dyson Hair Dryer it takes 1/3 or less of the time. It is so much lighter then other hair dryer, but the cord does add wait because it is thicker, but I just put the slack of the cord on my vanity. I love how the attachments are magnetic, they stay connected securely to the dryer! I love the speed and the heat settings, they are great. This dryer is worth the expensive if you spend a good amount of time drying your hair. This is a great dryer for professional!
