This is my second Dyson, I absolutely loved my 1st Dyson vacuum which is what prompted me to purchase this second Dyson. However, this Dyson is not what I expected. Right away I noticed it was quieter than my first Dyson,(not a problem), but it also had less suction power. I really should have sent it back but I had already thrown out the box.
I still have confidence in Dyson products, I just think I may have received a lemon. Not sure I would recommend this item if this is the normal level of operation.

This is my 3rd dyson vacuum. I have an older model (abt 5yrs old) that works
wonderful and I have it on my 2nd level to use on bedrooms. I just got new
carpet ( very plush) and had ordered a pet ball to use on it. But carpet is so thick
that it has to be vacuumed by pulling back and can't go forward. So
to lift the vacuum each time, which I'm not able to do (too heavy for vacuuming
3 rooms). This is so light and easy to use. Also used on ceiling fans, cleaned them in minutes. I would highly recommend this vacuum. I love dyson product's. Also
I ordered this and it was delivered 2 days later. Very easy to put to together.

With always at least two dogs and people allergies to deal with, we have tried different vacuum cleaners and different types (whole house, canister, upright). There are pros and cons to each type, but by far, we have liked the Dyson Animal best. We actually bought two -- one for each floor. I wish we had been able to find them for the QVC price, because this price is well over $150 less than we paid. Regardless, it is light weight and maneuverable. It picks up dog hair extremely well. The floor attachment is a good size and has great pick up of chunks and bits (the dogs love to bring garden mulch in and then shake it onto the floors). We bought several additional attachments, and I use them all. They are easy to change out. The small beater bar works great on carpeted stairs and upholstery. Suction is good as long as you empty the canister after each use. That is my only complaint, although in another house we had a built in vacuum, and emptying the receptacle was a nightmare, so this compared to that is only an annoyance. One other thing -- I don't know how many people have had belt driven beater bar attachments, but over the years I have had to change belts or open up the beater bar and remove clogging strings and dust that accumulate. I sew, so I do get strings in the Animal beater bar, but since the attachment (all of them) is driven by suction, there are NO belts or motors in the beater bar to replace. I haven't had clogging issues either. Just a great vacuum!
