Dyson DC39 Multi-floor Canister Vacuum with 6 Attachments
Not so great
The sweeper brush just drags on my area rugs, thought it being a dyson it would be powerful enough to sweep an area rug!!! Not so!!!!!
Where are the instructions for use? There are only pictures to show you how to put it together. Nothing to show you the purpose of the extra tools.
This is a great canister vac. I vacuum every day and have a large, old farmhouse-dogs, 5 indoor cats, children you name it-high use and dirt environment. Some carpet but 70% hardfloors throughout the house. My prior vac was a riccar canister. That vac had been to the repair shop many times for body work, wheels, hoses, controls, cords etc. Now this Dyson is a newer model so cant say much to longevity, but I love the way this vac is built and how the parts look very easy to replace and can be replaced yourself and not necessarily by a shop. For example the wheels have fallen off of all of my canister vacs. This vac rides on a chasse that can be easily ordered and replaced at home. The retractable cord seems to be very well done and sturdy. That is another function that has always gone out on my canister vacs. As to performance this is a great vac, the suction is tops, it follows nicely, much better than my riccar. Ok and this is my favorite part----NO BAGS!!! I have paid for 10 riccar vacs in bag costs. I am sick of the operating costs on the riccar and miele vacs! NO MORE!!! I dump the container which is very easy to get on and off in an outside garbage can because of my allergies. If you are a canister person you will love this vac. I think most of the nay sayers about this vac are not canister people. That's one of those things that you either love em or hate em. If you have wall to wall carpet throughout your 4500sf house you should probably go for an upright :) qvc has the best deal by far on this with the multiple attachments- which you will need and love! The Flex pay is awesome!! Thanks qvc!!
We always had a canister vac as a child. They were heavy and bulky and I vowed to never have one again. I ordered this one because it could go under the tv cabinet, etc., and around the recliners and under the edges. It also has a nice long cord, no bag to deal with, light weight, pulls along so easy. My 20 year old son loves it. I told him he had no experience with the ancient canister vacs.
Ok, You Got Me
I've watched Dyson on QVC for years and have been skeptical that buying a Dyson was such a great value. I took it out of the box and cleaned a small part of my carpet....AMAZING!!!!
It was so lightweight I didn't think it could actually be picking anything up. However when I looked back at the area that I cleaned, the carpet looked brand new (I have 2 cats and a dog so it got a workout). Pardon the pun, but I was floored. Dyson delivered on their promise. And as always, QVC delivered on providing a quality product. Thanks for the Easy Pay!!
P.S. My upright (from the Dyson wannabe) is going to charity. I won't need it any more.
waste of money
Just finished using this vacuum. I am so tired of change the head for different floors and the suction is very not that good. I go back and I see dirt still on the rug that was not picked up. It is an overprice price of junk.
Love my Dyson!!
I have wanted to try a Dyson for quite a while but put it off. I am glad I didn't wait any longer. The machine is lighter than I expected -a plus for me-but cleaned my floors and carpets with ease (2dogs, 1cat). I liked the fact that to go from floor to carpet is a simple push of the button and that the cord is longer than my older vacuum. This purchase was well worth the price
This vacuum is easy to use and well made. I like not having to buy bags and belts and am amazed at how well it picks up dust! You won't be disappointed.
LOVE IT! LOVE IT!
I own 2 Dysons and will always own one. Both are animal models--one is an upright and the other is a canister. They work as advertised. I can't get over how much they pick up. You won't be disappointed with the Dyson.
I waited forever to get the Dyson! I finally ordered and patiently waited for it to arrive. Fresh out of the box and easily snapped together....I turned it on and pushed the trigger button to turn off the brush for my hardwood floors. It doesn't work. You have to hold the button down (not easy to do while vacuuming) or brush starts spinning. Also, it felt like the suction was greatly reduced when I held the button. I called Dyson and they said to hold the button down for 2 seconds and the brush should stop spinning. It doesn't work. Now I have to figure out how to get it back in the box! Not how I wanted to spend my weekend.
This is my 2nd Dyson. Love them, I have three dogs, all heavy shedders and the vacs work great. This unit is light and turns corners better than older models. The only draw back is the rug release button. If you click it a couple of times it will engage the spinner brush head. Other than that it is a great product at a very good price.
Returned it right away
I wanted to love this, but returned it after the first use. The cord was much shorter than my Kenmore so I couldn't clean the same size area I was used to without moving the plug to another outlet. The power button was small and easy to confuse with the cord rewind button. I found the catch bin was hard to put back on after emptied. No place to keep the extra cleaning tools. I wasn't even impressed with the suction. It was just not a good machine.
