Rated 2 out of 5 by from 2 Stars My wife and I purchased this vacuum a while ago. At first it worked wonderful but then we had been having problems with it. The brush head would not spin like it is supposed to and not pick anything up at all. There is nothing blocking the air flow as I can tell. She has already taken this vacuum up for repair once. Before she had it repaired it was doing the same thing like it is now again. One thing I do not like about this model is that the width of the openings starting at the canister to the hose to the arm and last to the brush head are to my opinion to narrow. Making it easy for stuff to jam it up when vacuuming. Those should be made wider so that would not be an issue or worry. My wife believes in your products 100% but I am starting to have doubt about them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Canister too small After being a lifelong Electrolux fan, I got sucked into the Dyson hype and bought this machine. Yes, it's cheaper but I expected better. Vacuum doesn't have wheels so you drag it around and it gets hung up on corners and furniture. It seems cheaply made of plastic and the canister is very small and doesn't hold much so you constantly have to empty it. Also, it is difficult to get everything out of the canister so you have to clean the machine after every use. I will stick with my Electrolux

Rated 3 out of 5 by from brush not self motorized. I had Dyson DC17 animal before and after 5 year finally try Canister for first time. both Power and brush function is lacked and machine only last me 2 years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Versatile and powerful This is the first vacuum I've bought that isn't an upright. I'm very pleased with how easy it is to use on my hardwood floors, carpets and furniture. I love the versatility of this machine and the ease of changing tools and using it under and around furniture. I've got a bad back and was concerned about lifting it but it's very lightweight although I don't have to carry it much because of how easy it pulls behind. The only thing I wish is that the power cord was a few feet longer and it would be perfect.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Run The Other Way I have had mine almost two years. It just quit working. Reached out to Dyson, took 2 HOURS, of waiting to get someone on the phone. They proceed to tell me, that this machine gets clogged a lot, and will stop working to protect itself. I need to wait 3 1/2 hours to let it cool down, then call back. HUH???? The person also told me they do not fix clogged vacuums. REALLY, I dump mine after each use. So,,, if it stopped because of blockage and it has to be sent in to remove blockage, I have to pay. GREAT warranty, not. This is the second Dyson product that has now failed me in the last few months. My cordless died a week out of warranty, and was told they would sell me a new one $100 off. I am very frustrated with this company.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not good for animal household... I have had mine for over a year now... Not thrilled. I have to revert back to my old dyson canister for the real hairy cleanups.. This is fine for a clean house or one with fine dust. The design of the beater brush doesn't allow things in. It won't pick up bugs. The bristles on the brush have already worn down, and when it comes to serious hair pickup, it doesn't. I have to drag my foot across the carpet and then beg it to pick it up. And... emptying it isn't easy. You have an extra tool to get that hair out from around the filter. It doesn't come out easy. I have worn more dirt emptying this thing. I love dyson. I think they make a great vac... this one is lacking though. My old dc-23 still does a better job...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It's so so This vacuum is good on wood or tile floor, but it's lousy on rugs/carpets. It works but it doesn't have the weight to lift the pile up and pick things up. It tends to jump around. It's also very difficult to empty even with a chop stick to swirl inside to get everything that sticks out. I find myself using my old upright Dyson on rugs and the canister on wood floors. Hate having to use 2 vacuums to clean my house. Looking for something better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from So upset I wasted $600 on this vacuum I should have returned it immediately. I owned the upright Dyson Animal for years, and you could see the suction and all the stuff it pulled from the carpets. This vacuum barely moves my carpet. My rugs look horrible. I purchased this vacuum because after 12 yrs of owning my first Dyson, it stopped working. Do NOT buy this product, it is not the same quality that Dyson used to make. I cannot believe I am stuck with this lemon. The attachments do not have the ability to move your carpet fibers to pull the dirt and dog hair up. The attachments for the hard wood floors are ok, but not great. All around this product works as well as you would expect a $50 dirt devil to work.
