I have many products from Dyson so this is not my first vacuum or products i have owned from this company but this is far by the worse vacuum i have owed. I wish i could have my old dyson but after 10 years...it was time to put it at rest.
Now in purchasing this vacuum, I was so excited that QVC was giving this awesome promotion deal. I have had this for over a month and i have had to call dyson for several issues, ranging from the suction valve issues to the "so call" attachments not functioning like they demonstrated on QVC or fitting correctly. Absolutely horrible!!!!
Its not the easiest to maneuver around either. I have to literally pick up the vacuum to go from room to room when not in use oppose to rolling the vacuum to the next room. Really annoying!

I've never been a huge fan of an upright vacuum cleaner. I've tried to make this one work, but I just can't get used to it. It's cumbersome and difficult to navigate with the ball technology. The hose isn't long enough if you want to use the wand piece to sweep hardwood floors. I felt like I was bent over the entire time I was sweeping.

Unbelievable at how much dirt it pulled out of the carpet. My previous vacuum was a Hoover bag type, self propelled. I thought it was doing a good job. It was old and I did change the bags often to make sure it always had the maximum air flow thru a new bag. The carpeting does look cleaner, and the pile cut looks uniformly fluffy.
The Dyson is also incredibly quiet as compared to the Hoover.
It takes a few times to get used to the wrist movement to steer it, and it doesn't have the power assist movement of the Hoover. As long as you're not in your 80's or 90's, I wouldn't see any problem pushing/pulling/turning.
The only minor complaints, are the hose and an attachment. I don't know if it's the suction or the newness of the hose coil spring, but it is a little difficult in using it. The hose wants to collapse back into itself. Maybe it will loosen up as I use it. It would also be nice to have an attachments that snap right on the end of the hose without any sort of extension piece. It would make it more maneuverable in your hand. The example would be the crevice/dusting brush tool. To use the dust brush tool, you have to slide it up the crevice tool shaft where it snaps in place, leaving you with an extension that makes if difficult to maneuver. It would be better to have that dusting brush tool snap directly on to the hose, eliminating the extension.
I like the button that turns off the beater bar, it's helpful in doing a quick vacuum of the bathroom and kitchen floor.
I had the Hoover maybe 20-25 years, I hope the Dyson lasts that long. So far I'd say it's one heck of a vacuum cleaner.

I have been a Dyson customer for over 12 years. I never thought in a million years that I would be considering another brand however I am seriously considering a change. I bought this in march to replace my old Dyson.
It has amazing suction.
It will not stay upright when you are trying to vacuumed using the floor attachment. Also when vacuuming the floor the hose won't extend out thus it constantly pulls the upright part instead of it sitting in place.
When emptying the canister, all the hair, etc. won't come out of the canister so, you
either have to stick your finger inside to pull the dirt and hair out or use something to pull it out. (I contacted Dyson to complain and they said I should use compressed air to draw it out)
I had a Dyson dc14 animal that I would give anything to have back. The newer ones are not made nearly as well as their predecessors.
If I have to hear my husband and daughters complain one more time about how much they hate using this Dyson and wishing they had the old one back I am going to scream!!!
Bottom line...not worth the money or the hassell. I have had this since march and I wish I had never bought it.

When I received this vacuum, I was very happy. It didn't take long before I had problems with it. The roller bar on the bottom did not work. When I called Dyson they claimed that it had to be blocked - how blocked can it get with only two senior citizens and no pets, REALLY. Sent it back to QVC, thank goodness they give you time to try the items that you purchase. I now ordered a Shark!

Ditched my old vacuum and bought THIS beast exactly one week ago today. Don't have any animals except stuffed ones but dust collects on my hardwood floors like it pays the rent. Ok. Read all the reviews and figured I'd spring for a Dyson. It came yesterday and I took it for a test drive today. Here's what I think. Ergonomically, it's a dream. The bumping around I used to do with the deceased vacuum (trying to get into tight spots) is a thing of the past. The ball takes care of THAT. I'm considered a senior but in pretty good shape. This vacuum is definitely lighter weight and easier to lift than any vacuum I've ever owned. I was waltzing around the rooms in half the time it used to take me to vacuum. All the parts snapped into place. LOVED that I didn't have to screw and knock stuff together. The only issue I had was with the red topped wand but one 10 minute call to Dyson and the rep told me to just push the button so the wand could go all the way down into the hose to rest. Ha! Easy peezy. breezy. Did I say it was the quiet type? Yep. That too. Feeling pretty updated with this sleek Dyson invention I purchased on QVC. Bravo Dyson and high five to the Q!

So far so great, best vacuum I've ever owned. Which I've never owned a Dyson, but I have used and borrowed a friends canister Dyson and was very impressed. So when I found this available for easy pay, I immediately researched information, and watched the videos. I was skeptical at first, but now I am very impressed, specifically because I have a golden retriever, and three cats and this does amazing at picking up dog hair! However if I do go a week or two without vacuuming, I will need to go twice on some sections on the carpet but it's golden retriever hair. I love the attachments, and how easy it is to attach them. I have noticed that it does have a auto stop for the brush bar if you accidentally go over a rug and it gets caught. Which is new for me. The only thing is the small wheel on the brush bar area squeaks but it's not really an issue. Also, the canister is small and I have to dig for the hair with a butter knife. But for the suction power, accessories, and easy movability I'll take it. I do have allergies and I feel like this vacuum does excellent at cleaning the air. I feel like the air is a lot cleaner and bright afterwards. So if you are wanting this vacuum, make sure to read reviews, and watch the demo video. I was unsure if it was the right vacuum for my home, and the price was one big factor in being unsure. But I am very happy with this purchase, and I think I'll be a Dyson customer for quite awhile. Oh, and the cord is so long! I can vacuum my hole apartment and not even need to unplug and replug. Plus, its not as noisy as other vacuums, and the Dyson I borrowed a few times was about 5x louder. Thanks qvc for the easy pay option!

The best vacuum and would highly recommend! Suction is really good and picks up everything and does not leave anything at all!
