I found this vacuum difficult to use, it also lost its power to clean dog hair. After less then a few months it even had a bad oder to it. Couldn't even sell it at my yard sale, left it on the curb for garage man

I bought this for my new build home, and started using it nine months ago. Prior to buying this Dyson, I had the Dyson upright DC07 for 10 years. The DC07 was a workhorse. It never let me down, but I didn't want to bring my dirty old vac into my brand new home. I thought the DC39 canister would be great for my mix of wood and wall to wall carpeting in the new place. Here's what I like about this vacuum. It's easy to move around, light weight, and comes with a selection of hose attachments. Here's what I hate about this vacuum. The canister barely holds anything compared to my DC07. With the DC07 I just had to open the canister over the trash and everything fell out. With this new DC39, nothing falls out. It all gets jammed up inside unless I empty it after every room. Instead, I have to use a puller stick from my carpet shampooer to yank the pet hair and dirt out of the DC39 canister. What I hate most is that this is not really for wall to wall carpeting. It barely lifts the pile. Plus, you have to go over an area multiple times in order to pick up pet hair. So, now my new wall to wall carpeting has become matted down as if I haven't vacuumed it in nine months, and there's perpetual pet hair I can't seem to get up from some areas. I've had canister vacuums from other manufacturers. Usually, they have stronger suction. Now, I'm considering getting another Dyson upright for my carpeting. That defeats the purpose of why I got this canister in the first place, to have only one vacuum for all my flooring. Next time I'll spend more for the better model.

This sweeper is such a dog, Have had it a little over 3 years and half the time have to wait until a later time to sweep, because it has no beater. Try everything they suggest, and still does not work. When I call the service center they tell me what to do and that still does not work, they don't seem to want to give me the name of an authorized service center in my area so I can have it checked out. Therefore, I cannot sweep my floors as often as I would like.

I had so many vacuums because of pet hair over the years and thought I would try the Dyson. I really like it.. It is great at picking up the fur, easy to navigate, and you don;t get that "vacuum smell" like from canisters that use bags. Easy to empty and clean. I like the small attachment which is great for stairs. Maybe this is my last vacuum purchase!

This was my first canister vacuum and it is not for me. Cord is too short, doesn't work on my dense shag and tips easy. The pros is good if you have normal carpet or hardwoods. Love QVC and thank goodness for returns. This goes back. Not sure what I need for my carpets.

1dog, 3 cats, need I say more about why I have the original 'animal' dyson stick and now the multi- floor canister? The extendable handle is such a great addition and makes cleaning cobwebs on 9' ceilings simplified. Thanks Dyson for listening. Now about that on/off switch on the handle......

I bought this last year and I am so happy that I did. It's easy to handle for my bad hands, powerful enough to get all the dirt the first time around and quiet. I JUST LOVE MY DYSON BALL MULTI FLOOR.
I have the purple one.

I hate this vacuum. It does not move easily. I feel like I'm yanking on it constantly in order to move around the room. The hose is not long at all so you can't even vacuum the stairs without holding the canister, which is heavy. The suction is pretty good, so good you can barely move the vacuum forward and backward. I have some stone flooring and the plastic on the bottom of the head can't handle the different levels and just gets scratched. I have hardwoods throughout with low-pile rugs and it still can't do the job well. Just an awful design overall.
