Rated 1 out of 5 by from Explore other options I've had this machine for less than 5 years - it was used ~ 2 times a week. The beater bar stopped spinning when I was attempting to vacuum last week. Took it to a repair shop (where there were several other Dysons awaiting service) and received the call today that it would cost me $125.00 to fix - "the beater bar is shot". This machine was a considerable investment for me and I would expect to have it working properly for a good number of years. I will not throw good money after bad, and have decided to pull my old vacuum out of the basement (since IT still works) and ditch the Dyson. Word to the wise - consider other brands.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Worth The Price I bought this vacuum a little over 3 years ago (November 2014). The vacuum no longer works. Just stopped! I would think a quality company such as Dyson would provide a better vacuum, especially with s price tag over $400. I’m trying Shark.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Useless Vacuum I have had this vacuum for a few years. It has been useless since day one. It over heats after 15 minutes of use and shuts down. Will not restart for hours. I empty the container twice in that 15 minutes and clean all filters after each use. It takes all day to vacuum 4 rooms in the house. The onboard wand is so stiff it won’t bend enough to use it. After paying so much money for it I am stuck with it. And forget customer service. They couldn’t care less. I wish I had bought a Shark.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from So disappointing... I've owned a Dyson many years ago, used it for years, & LOVED it. Having bought inferior products bc I didn't want to make the significant investment, I looked forward to finally taking the plunge to get my new Dyson Animal. Boy, was this a major disappointment. After reading the instructions, and putting the unit together, (also looking up "AskDyson" on YouTube to ensure proper & correct assembly), I began vacuuming. The "cleaner head assembly" continued to come off the unit. It detached 4 TIMES. (The Animal is also very heavy, and difficult to steer.) I boxed it back up. And sadly will return it this morning. At this price point, these issues are significant, and very disappointing. My next purchase will be the Shark. Hopefully, I will have better results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased! I am so happy with my Dyson Ball Animal 2! After reading some reviews, I was nervous about putting it together, but it was a breeze. It is powerful, much lighter than my old upright and so easy to maneuver around furniture. I did animal rescue and I have four dogs and five cats, needless to say animal hair and dander are a problem in my home. Vacuuming every day is not an exaggeration. My Germen Shepherd and GSD mix blow their coats and the white under fluff gets on everything. The Dyson and its attachments got it up fast- off of the carpet and sofa and chairs. I did not have to vacuum the same spot several times to get all of the fur up. I really can't say enough about this machine! The only tiny negative comment would be that there is no place on the vacuum for the attachments- but who cares when it is so light and easy to move!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great suction is only great if it helps you clean Being an owner of the original animal vacuum which just died, I was excited to get the new Dyson animal vacuum. After using it for a couple of weeks, I'm going to return it. I have about 10 rugs in the house and this vacuum has made cleaning miserable. It won't go over any rugs, regardless of the size of the pile. It either stops or sucks it up. If you turn off the beaters, it's like pushing an anchor through mud to go over a shag rug. Stronger suction is only better if it helps you clean and this thing is miserable to try to use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dyson Vacuum Very Heavy!! Difficult to assemble maybe not for someone in their 20's which I am not. I liked/loved my Shark Rotator much better, but I thought I would give Dyson a try. Sorry I did, should have stayed with Shark.
