Duraflame Powerheat 1500W Infrared Quartz Tower Heater
Already having problems with it!
I purchased this heater back in December 2013, it is now February 2014 , and it doesn't work anymore. I got it on easy pay and I still owe on this product and it doesn't work . I can't believe I would ever purchase something from QVC that is not good if not great quality. Very disappointed in this purchase. I would also like to note sometime you need more than thirty days to return an item.
This unit just does not heat up as advertised. I live in a small condo and gave away another heater when I got this one. I wished I had kept my old heater.
Not what I had hoped for.
I wish I had seen reviews before purchasing. No way does this heat up the area they claimed. This will be going back.
not mutch heat for the money. works as advertised ,but not mutch more. i would not recomend this .
didn't do much
didn't see any increase in temp in the room i needed it for. going back
I was eagerly anticipating reducing my heating bills with this heater. Unfortunately, the power would not come on. It was totally dead. I returned the item. What a disappointment.
Purchased this for my bird's room but after s few days it started to make noise. Works good but is noisy.
Not sure if I will keep it...for the $$$ not sure if I or my birds can live with the noise.
I haven't had this Duraflame Quartz Heater long enough to comment on it's durability, but it seems to be well made, and functions as I expected. The controls are simple to understand and easy to use, as is the included Remote Control. It's a very quiet unit; with the TV on in the same room you don't even hear the fan motor running. The pedestal design takes up less floor space than other quartz heaters (including another Duraflame model that was rated #1 by Consumer Reports) with identical heat output.
I have a "man cave" that takes up half of our basement. In cold weather, with the heater thermostat (located on the main floor) is set at 70*, the basement is probably around 66*, which is a little chilly if you're just sitting in front of the TV. This little Quartz Heater, which I have sitting about 8' away from my chair, warms that area of the basement up to a comfortable level.
One word of caution: The description of this item states that it "heats up to 1000 sq. ft.", but the instructions clearly state that this unit is NOT intended to be the PRIMARY heat source. From my experience, using it in a basement with uninsulated cinder block walls, I find that 5200 BTU quartz heaters like this one will raise the temperature of a 12' x 12' space (144 sq. ft.) by 2-4 degrees, which is exactly what I bought it for, but that's about it. Don't buy this heated to warm your 2-car garage in the winter; you'll be disappointed!
