LOVE THIS This is our second Duraflame in this style. We have a 2500 sq. ft. home. We heated our home last year nearly exclusively with one of these so we purchased a second so that the other one doesn't have to work as hard. We saved over $4000/yr in propane! 11-01-14
Preview Your Review I'm so glad I ordered this heater instead of the cheaper one I was originally looking at. This one is like a nice piece of furniture. It's a real wood casing and not one of those photo finished wood pieces. The heater puts out a lot of head and is perfect in my living room. It's an end table and a heater. The only thing I'm disappointed with is the little remote. It's really kind of a joke and they would be better of eliminating it or upgrade it with something that has better function. 10-15-14
Not Bad, But Could Have Been Better. I only gave this three stars because after three years the heat is no longer consistent. I live in a poorly insulated house, and have been using this to heat the down stairs, which can drop below 30 degrees in the winter. The first couple of years it kept things just warm enough to be comfortable (I don't like being too hot, but I'm not fond of frostbite either.), but this past winter the heat would go out and it would start blowing cold air. I would have to turn it up to its higher temperatures just to get some warmth, then it would suddenly start blowing really hot air again, and I would burn up and have to turn it down. In the past I could keep it at a steady 68 degrees and everything was fine, but this last time I had to keep fluctuating between 78-90 degrees because it would only blow cold air when turned down lower or stop working altogether. Otherwise, for the first two year is was a really great heater, and I rarely had to turn on my heat for the house thanks to this keeping the downstairs nice and warm. 10-05-14
Best Purchase Ever I purchased this heater for my daughter who owns a home built in 1901. Her home is heated by oil and she didn't have a gauge that notified her when her oil was depleted. (She became a new home owner a few months ago.) She awoke one cold morning to find that her heat was not working because she ran out of oil. She plugged in her duaflame heater and was warm and toasty as she waited for her new oil shipment to come. This heater heated her whole first floor. 01-22-14
