Surprisingly wonderful
I received this handbag in black and I'm in love with every part of it... I wish I could get it in every color. Everything is of top quality from the embossed leathering to the stitching. I'm so glad I decided to purchase this wonderful bag it's worth every penny and more. Dooney & Bourke has done it again!...

Not for the faint of heart
Okay, first things first; this is a big bag. It says that it is 'medium' but I'm 5'10" and its big. If you are looking for a tote to carry all the stuff we ladies love to lug around, this is the bag for you. It is a bit on the heavy side, but it's the only work out I get, so I'm going to continue carrying it. I even carried my 17" laptop in it and the width is perfect. I purchased the natural and the embossing shows up really well. Love love love it.
The other review leads one to believe that this bag folds over like other Dooney bags. It does not fold. It is most definitely a structured tote.

lacking in quality control
tried the orange colour florentine vachetta satchel twice. the 1st one had dark spots, the 2nd was worse, white spots this time, parts of the bag had very crumpled creased leather, like bad quality pebble leather and the fold over top was already unevenly creased, making it impossible to make the fold over top look the way it was intended. decided 2 tries was enough, so tried this style. this I would describe as a luggage, it's huge with not much hardware. I do not understand the hype of this brand, quality control just is not there. before they place these items in the plastic bags, why aren't they looked over. takes only a second. before I even took this one out the box, already saw this white thing on the front of the bag. it looked like someone was eating ice cream that dripped on the bag and then it was wiped with tissue after it had dried, leaving white sticky residue behind. that's my best description. it may be some sort of glue residue but it just won't come off, tried leather cleaner, it's no longer white but can still see the mark on the navy colour background. also the metal brand plate on front was covered with plastic using some sort of glue, had to clean that off as well, took lots of effort to make it shine. saw crocked stitch on the contrasting white thread stitching on the bottom. there is also a large crease going accross the front of the bag. I don't get it, these bags are not cheap, simple once over before they go out to a customer should be a given. these bags are similar price point as coach and michael kors, never have issues with these brands. paid $1200 for a coach bag couple weeks ago and totally happy. I guess I am expecting too much for $338 from D & B. I like the roomy interior and pockets and so thankful that the interior does not have that awful half green lining. this is missing some tassels and hardware to jazz it up as a handbag and not so much like the look of an upscale overnight or diaper bag. it's bigger than what is described, so it's just too plain, even with the embossing ... all that leather surface and nothing of interest. I was so wanting to like this brand and be a fan. maybe this brand makes Oprah's list of fav things, but not mine. so far not impressed
