V29774 - Don Aslett's Super-size Grime Stopper Indoor & Outdoor Mat
I like them
I purchased two of the mats to put just inside two sliding glass doors. I live in a rural area of Florida where there is no dirt, just very fine "sugar" sand. I have mats outside and inside. I also have purchased the bristle mats in the past and still have them outside.
These mats are, to me, quite attractive. The darker brick blends with the tile on my screen porch, the lighter salmon color blends well with my large carpet.
Please bring both models back
bring back the old mat
I have several of the first mat you brought to QVC with the astro turf type bristles that hold the sand, dirt, etc. They were the best. I have several in the taupe color and love them and would love to order more. For those of you who prefer the old mat, I found them on HSN. They look like the same mat and have great reviews. Please bring it back to QVC, as I prefer this shopping channel. Hope management is listening.
Looks nice, BUT
Please bring back the bristle style mats that would hold a ton of sand, mud, grass, etc. They were much more effective in cleaning shoes. This mat is ok, but definitely not up to previous standards. Don's products are terrific but in this case, new and improved doesn't cut it.
Prefer Bristled Style
Please bring back the Don Aslett sturdy bristle style mats that were originally offered from Aslett by QVC. They came in brown and black I know as I bought several of them. I would like to see the super large sizes as they worked beautifully at my sliding glass doors and I would like to order a couple more.
This style mat comes no where near the high quality appearance, ability to stop dirt and grime etc of the original mat.
I am disappointed in the visible flat rubber texture of this mat. It looks cheap at the door compared to the original bristle mat.
This is a beautiful mat every time someone comes over they comment how its to pretty to be an outdoor mat.Our home is Tuscan themed and this goes perfectly i ordered the deep red and buying another for the garage!
works great inside my patio door
nice large size, yes it does smell..i notice it..but no one has complained..so am going to live with it...why because it works great!! i am amazed at the debris that is caught on this mat..shocking actually...when i think what was going on in the carpet before i got this mat well i am happy to have it. material is thick and sturdy..mat stays in place..now if i can get the doggies to wipe their feet on it!!
Love the great size!
Wow, I guess I am in the minority on this purchase. I did notice the smell after taking it out of the box, but it had been sitting on my porch in the Arizona sun for a few hours; I put one at the back door and the other at the front, cannot notice any smell from them now. I did have a small problem with one corner not lying flat, but that corrected after 5 days, this is why the 4 stars rather than 5. I recommend these to anyone looking for a large, nice designer looking outdoor mat.
can not get rid of smell should get free shipping back .
Was surprised by the color and smell!
I received mine today in Brick. Although I would argue it's more like a burgundy color, than a brick color. Yes the smell is bad! I've been reading most of the reviews and see that most people complain about the smell. I was not on my computer to read the reviews before ordering. No one mentioned this smell problem in the presentation.
If a product like this has so many bad reviews because of the bad smell, why don't they either mention it during the demo, or at least include instructions for getting rid of the smell when you receive it? I will use some of the suggested options for getting rid of the smell. It's on my back patio porch swing - I'll give it 2 weeks. If the smell doesn't improve, I'll send it back. Customers shouldn't have to go to this much effort to use a product. They should be informed ahead of purchase - or given a magic powder or liquid to apply to reduce the smell.
Horrible tire smell
I listened to the reviews and was reluctant to buy this rug because of the smell. But I looked at the questions and answers and it appeared that it was possible to get rid of the smell so I took the chance and bought 2 of them. While they are nice, large rugs, it's impossible to get rid of the tire, rubber smell. We have tried for 3 weeks. We left them outside in the sun, washed them with detergent and a hose and then sun dried them some more, bought the xoxo spray (that people recommended) just to get rid of the smell (hasn't worked yet) and they've been outside in the sun 3 weeks... it's ridiculous to have to go through these extraordinary measures just to get rid of the smell! While all our efforts have diminished the tire, rubber smell somewhat, it's definitely still there. It's too much trouble to return but I definitely would NEVER order them again or recommend them to anyone.
SIZE IS GREAT PATTERN NOT ATTRACTIVE
THIS SIZE WHICH IS OFFERED IS JUST TERRIFIC. I HAVE THE SMALLER MATS AT BOTH OF MY ENTRYS AND THEY WORK GREAT. THEY REALLY SAVE ME A LOT OF WORK BY TRAPPING THE DIRT THAT GETS ON THE INSIDE PAST THE DON ASLETTS "ASTRO-TURF" STYLE MATS WHICH ARE ON THE OUT SIDE OF EACH DOOR..... BUT THIS PATTERN JUST LOOKS LIKE THE OLD FLOCKED WALL PAPER FROM THE 1960'S SORRY, THIS ACTUALLY MAKES ME A LITTLE SICKENED WHEN I LOOK AT IT. PLEASE BRING THIS SIZE IN A MORE UPDATED CONTEMPORARY AND PLEASING PATTERN. JUST MY OPINION, BUT I DOUBT I AM ALONE IN THIS THINKING.
We have two Great Pyrenees Mountain Dogs (each over 110 lbs) and live in red clay land. This rug is saving my sanity. It grabs a lot of the dirt and debris off of their feet when they come in through our mud room.
