A Very Happy 100th Birthday!
A dear friend recently celebrated her 100th birthday. I hosted the party for her 99th and intended to do so for the 100th celebration, too, but she was adamant that she would host her own party, and she did so -- a wondertful luncheon for 120 friends and family. She specified to those invited that there were to be no gifts, but it was too important an occasion for me to let pass without doing something special. When I consulted QVC customer service, the woman who assisted me gave it some thought, then suggested this necklace. I liked the idea of the 100 stations (wishes) to mark 100 years, but I was nervous because the presentation online does not give a good representation of the appearance of the necklace. With no other ideas, I decided to go for it, understanding that QVC would let me return it if I was displeased when it arrived. The necklace is exquisite. One look, and I knew it would not be returned.
Because of the "No Gifts" edict, I casually removed it from its box and put it into my pocket and dropped by to see my friend a month before her birthday. When talk turned to the party, I confessed that I had bought something to give to her, but not as a birthday gift, just as something that reminded me of her. When I removed it from my pocket and dropped it into her hands, she loved it at first sight, just as I had. The necklace is delicate, but substantial, looks far more expensive than its cost, is versatle, so it looks beautiful worn alone or in combination wth other pieces. My friend loves it, and that means that I love it, too. Irt may be the most successful gift purchase I have ever made, and I am 67.
How can I be sure that my centenarian loves it? She has worn it every day since I dropped it into her hands. She loves that it is so tactile -- she enjoys touching it and wrapping it around her fingers. Most days, she wears it at it full length. For her party, she doubled it and wore it with another chain necklace, and with her mother's diamond earrings. She always looks elegant and beautiful, but never more so that at the party. I do have one criticism. I thought the packaging was unimpressive -- the least impressive I have ever seen from a QVC company. That is a shame because the necklace is wonderful and substantial, so it deserves a better presentation. But, do not be put off by anything. This is a beautiful piece of jewelry, and I feel like it may be my best bargain ever.

LOVE this necklace. It's very dainty and feminine. The length is very nice. I have Lisa Robertson's Points of Light bracelet and this necklace is a great accompaniment.

I like Dogeared. I have bar and circle stud earrings which I wear daily. This necklace is finer than expected, but it works well with pendants with smaller bails. I bought it when at a special price - it is a bit pricey.

I like the length, the material, workman ship and especially the symbolism of this necklace. It is fine in its structure, not a med weight chain. The 2 things I would improve upon would be the size of the lobster clasp. I find it small trying to catch the loop ring to attach it. And two, I bought this during the "Silver Rush" where the price was at an event price. For this chain, cost was very high once they add the S/H and tax ! QVC may think about special events and their pricing as a promo to include free S/H. Wouldn't that be something !
