I agree with the other reviewers. I LOVE Dennis Basso, but was very disappointed in these jackets (I ordered two). The are extremely light weight and made of a plastic-y (is that even a word) material that is super thin and seems like it will rip right away. It's beautiful to look at, just afraid the snaps will tear right through the fabric. Unless I can find the packing material, I will be stuck with them. I will just have to be extremely careful when wearing them as even a seatbelt seems as though it will rip through them.

I just received this jacket. Couldn't believe the tissue paper thin material. I'm guessing the snap closures will rip right through the material. It looks like a plastic. No warmth from this since there's no visible insulation. Looks like flattened bubble wrap with a color. It's going back today! Sorry I have to pay a shipping charge. Should have checked reviews first.

This jacket is a good value. Well made and very today. I ordered a XL, which i usually wear because of broad shoulders. It was very big! Returned and received a L and way to small. It went back. So sorry. It is a very nice jacket.

I have several Dennis Basso coats, and liked the looks of this one, but it does not measure up to his usual standards. It is thin and flimsy, and when I tried it on, one of the pockets was torn through to the other side. It's going back.

I must admit that this is a great looking jacket. If looks is all you require then you might enjoy this jacket as a layering piece. But if you really need a jacket with an itty bitty bit of warmth to it to help you transition into real fall weather than I must tell you that this is not a real jacket. It only looks like a jacket. The reason that I say that is because that pretty but paper thin lining and and that pretty but paper thin exterior fabric have nothing in between then. Nothing! Nada! Zip!!! I think that it is inexcusable to call this a jacket. These days with all the warm extremely thin lightweight filler type fabrics that are available Dennis could have put something between the layers. A layer of cheap flannel between them would have given it some tiny bit of warmth and might have made it an actual jacket. Or make that pretty lining out of something with a little weight to it. The second problem is that one or both layers do not breath in the slightest. If you are just sitting driving a car that may work for you. But if you are going to walk the dog or walk from shop to shop you are going to feel like you're wrapped in plastic and you're going to sweat. Not a good feeling. Third, there are probably a dozen flying threads sticking out of seams and we all know that is not a sign of a quality garment. Fourth, there is one area where there is a great big knot of thread in plain view on a seam right next to a snap. Dennis. Please. The design is just brilliant but you have to reconsider the execution of this jacket. And you have to step up the control quality control. If I see that you address these issues in the future I would try this jacket again because it is really a beautiful design. Another suggestion for you. I wish that you would make colder climate versions of the same outerwear that you offer to the rest of the country. I would pay more for that. An item could be presented in two versions that look the same but one has a lining or a filler layer that makes it suitable for very cold weather. Last but least, despite all my criticisms of this particular jacket, I think you Mr. Dennis Basso are an extremely gifted designer. I love the sheer artistry of your designs and try not to miss any of your shows on QVC. And I do understand and appreciate that you are trying to meet a price point that allows me to enjoy your designs here in Vermont instead of just the Madison Avenue girls. That's why I just know that you would not be proud of the garment that arrived in my home. And that's why I am still and always will be a huge fan. HUGE. Thanks for listening!
Rated 5 out of 5 by flora 123 Light weight and lovely!
Fits a tad large---i must roll up the sleeves for my arms--but its better a little large I guess as you can fit sweaters under. Washes beautifully. Feels warm, but I'm in Florida, so not sure how toasty it would be in a colder place. But its perfect for me! I think it will be great for travel.
Rated 3 out of 5 by sager Pretty but poorly constructed
I ordered the marsala. It's just an OK color. Ordered my usual size and that's fine too. I'm mostly concerned with the snaps. They're attached to the rather thin fabric and I'm afraid that they'll pull out, leaving me with nothing to secure the coat (unlike buttons). I like the design but would have preferred buttons or a zipper. Very lightweight fabric but that's OK too. I'm long armed but this is only an average sleeve.

Snaps seem super insecure and likely to rip off with even light use. Pockets super shallow and un-generous. Poor investment. I like the thinness of the coat and the Navy is gorgeous.
