F09951 - "Deeg-In" With Family and Friends by MarkCharles
not as gfood as I expected
I am sorry Mark Charles, but this book is good so far as it goes, but I'm not the expected audience for it.
A GREAT PURCHASE
I ENJOYED THIS COOK BOOK, AND HAVE ALREADY PREPARED A COUPLE OF VEGETABLE RECEIPES. I'LL USE IT A LOT. GREAT JOB MARKCHARLES.
Love the Book!
I enjoy cookbooks not only for the recipes, also facts or stories pertaining to the food items. I love the presentation of "Deeg-In". I have tried a couple of the recipes. The instructions are great and so was the food!
Not so good
The book did not get my attention. Other books have better features than this.
Recipes look great and should be no problem to find everything needed...Love the family photos and stories. Thanks David for bring us this one....
I own many cookbooks and so far this is one of my favorites. It's nice to own a cookbook with family friendly recipes that don't contain a lot of fancy ingredients or long prep/cooking times. This book is separated into seasons (nice touch) and is full of tips and little notes from MarkCharles. One of my favorite aspects are the family photos that go along with some of the recipes. For example, you turn the page to Uncle Joe's Apple Tarte Tatin...and there is Uncle Joe! I've already tried a couple of the recipes and have not been disappointed. My kids (5 and 11) loved making (and eating) the Easy Ice Cream Sandwich Cake and the Creamy Mashed Potato Bake was delicious (can't wait to try the Cream of Carrot Soup). Great cookbook, I'm very happy with my purchase. :-)
Great recipes but......
I agree with the other reviewer about the pictures. Who are these people? I assume "MC" is Mark Charles, but the children and others are not identified except by a first name and therefore have no meaning to the reader. Recipes do look good and have easy to find ingredients. Think this book is a keeper.
UNIQUE recipes, but easy to follow, not seen anywhere else with common ingredients. Just what everyone needs to make meals interesting and different....great value!
Different from other cookbooks
This book has lots of recipes I've never seen before in my big cookbook collection. Just a few things could have made it better - most of the photos do have names, but we have no idea who they are?? That would have been nice to know. Many useful shortcuts but still have a "made-from-scratch" look. I do wonder on the first recipe I will try - the caramel brownies - they look like they have marshmallow broiled on top, but this is not in the recipe or the tips. It does not look like ice cream as indicated in the tip?
WELL DAVID WAS RIGHT AGAIN, IT HAS HOME STYLE COOKING THANKS MARK CHARLES . HAPPY HOILDAY,NOW I CAN MAKE SOME SOUTHERN COOKING
