Fell short of expectationsI love the fit of Dansko clogs and rely upon them when my plantar faciatis begins to show....they make me all better fast. I also wear when I just want a comfortable feel, and will be on my feet all day....
I had a pair with coated canvas that were made for wet weather. I have worn them so much I wore them out. I was desperate. Looked on eBay, wrote to the company....,needed a new pair of rain clogs, so I was thrilled when these came out and was happy to run out and buy them. They turned out to be a dissapointment for three reasons....
1. They don't run to Dansko size. My regular size felt too loose....the rubber did not hold me onto the heel and I felt I was gong to fall of of them. They were just too big. So I ordered the next smallest size, which is a little tight but Necessary. Because they are a little tight, after a long wear they start to get uncomfortable during a long wear....I guess as my feet swell a but during the day and there is no room in the clog for that.
2. These had a different heel than my other rain clogs and the standard clog. With the heel, I don't feel as comfortable wearing these all the live long day. My ankle gets a bit tired.
3. Related to the heel and rubber, even though I got the tighter fit, I still don't feel like my foot is tightly held onto the heel and I don't feel cnfiddnet walking in these clogs. As I use them for rainy days, walking in muddy situations, gardening etc they are just not working for me as the last pair had. I'm dissapojnted. If I did not have the prior volley version of the waterproof clogs, I guess I would not be as Disappointed. I ended up buying a regular pair of rain boots for those wet commuting days. They don't have the support that my Dansko would have had, but I feel more confident walking in them, I guess I will wear my Dansko from time to time because I'm stuck with them,pl.land will still go back to my worn out Rain Volleys from time to time as well. It's too bad because I really thought these clogs would be awesome and they are not.
I would advise to be careful with the fit. Overall, Dansko s are great and if you want waterproof, it's an option. Maybe others don't care so much about a bit higher heel. As I was expected a replacement for my Volleys, it left me wanting. Definitely consider if a size smaller could work for you as they run a bit big.
I should add that I am in my early 50's. I work out but my ankles are a bit weak so I am always worries about falling. I walk a lot as I'm a NYC commuter, so I have high expectations for my walking shoes.
