Cuisinart 7-quart Stand Mixer - White
After one week
had this for one week. Tested it with egg whites, and they whipped up beautifully. Yesterday I gave it a workout, large recipe of whole wheat bread, using 9 cups of flour. The mixer rocked a little, but didn't walk across the counter. It was a little noisy, but not excessively loud. I set the timer for ten minutes to knead, and it worked well. Felt the casing, and the motor area was only slightly warm. This morning, i did white bread, standard two loaf recipe (6 1/2 cups of flour) once again it worked well. All ingredients in the bowl were incorporated, no clumps of unmixed ingredients in the bowl. I did adjust the reach on the dough hook, as the factory setting was a little too high. Easy to adjust, and worked well. Initial review: this was a good buy, will have to wait to test durability...
As an Culinary Arts Student, this mixer was recommended, this is a powerful mixer. I love it, it is very quiet, kneads bread without moving all over the counter unlike another mixer of which I also have. it is light weight but does not mean it is not a good product. It is worth your money. Glad that I have it.
Great Stand Mixer
I've had this mixer for over a year now. Replaced another brand with the bowl lift that broke after one year. This mixer handles double batch bread doughs, cookie doughs etc with ease. Whips egg whites or cream so fast that you'd better not walk away LOL.
The plastic disk where the bowl threads on to the mixer is to ensure a secure fit. Each mixing attachment has it's own ability to be adjusted up or down, so it's much more custamizable for each individual piece. And I could never figure out how much to adjust the "one-screw" on the other brand either (what if only one attachment needs adjusting?)
The countdown feature, and fold feature is very handy to have. Also, the tilt head locks up or down, so it's very secure.
All in all, this is a work horse and very well made.
I received this for my birthday because the 'kids' thought a 1000W would be able to mix the extremely thick Christmas candy I make that ruined my Kitchenaid. Sadly, this thing is so light it bounces all over the counter, you have to hold it down with both hands and your body. The design is everything I would have loved to have in a better built mixer. The top flips back, the pour spout splash guard is well thought out and very convienient for right or left side, plus the controls are smart. There are so many things I love about this mixer, but, sadly, it is so plastic, light and cheaply built. Sad.Sad. I am sorry we didn't buy another machine and tough it out with some of the lesser points. I have to add I love the Cuisinart food processor better than that "other brand", it doesn't mess around and nothing leaks out of the bowl because the core is too short as does the other brand. Must add, I'm afraid to make my uber thick candy in this.
Not if you like all metal construction.
Ok , I got this mixer as a Gift From the hubby... I had ask for it ,( I thought oh it must be wonderful its Cuisinart after all, UM NO.) SO i gave my artisan KitchenAid to my sister. where to start. Ok top to bottom. the ENTIRE top is PLASTIC, the guard if you will on top of all the attachments AGAIN. PLASTIC, then the best part of all, there is a thin plastic disk that the mixer bowl sits on. the HUB fitting.. you guessed it PLASTIC. So with that said, I will also inform you that I GAVE it away to my step son and his new wife, I would not want to pay top Dollar for plastic but if you dont mind all of that then this could be the one for you, THe bottom of the stainless mixing bowl is also hollow??? underneath...WHY??? I have went back to kitchen aid I never got rid of my pro 6 but I did buy another artisan to keep it company...
Strong but lacking
I purchased this mixer because I bake & decorate cakes and thought the power & timer were quite useful. And I know from owning other Cuisinart products that it is a wonderful brand.
However, It appears that the mixing accessories are not long enough to mix the batters in the 7 qt (maybe they are for the 5qt), leaving all the ingredients at the bottom of the mixing bowl.
Perhaps the 5-quart is better than the 7-quart.
purchased for my wife as a gift so she could retire her grandmother's mixer and she has loved it . handles thick cookie doughs with ease.
Absolutely the best mixer you'll ever own
I decorate cakes which requires a mixer that can handle large amounts and to run for a long time. I own both this and the 6 qt.Professional Kitchen Aide and love them both BUT THIS is the one I reach for time and time again. The timer is great. You set it and walk away - the mixer turns its self off. The fold feature gently folds ingredients in that i would normally have to do by hand. AND the beaters pop off if the dough is too thick too handle rather that stripping the gears or burning out the motor which has happened in the past with my Kithchen Aides. But with 1000w of power it plows thru everything even bread dough which we make alot! Even the recipies it came with were great. It was well worth the price.
