CooksEssentials Pasta Maker w/7 Pasta Discs & 3 Additional Tools
I bought the right flour to make pasta and I have had not one failure with any kind I make. Now I have recipes for pastas that don't call for eggs and I am sure this will work just as well. Any child could run this machine, it is so simple. Mine is in the blue and it is very pretty.
NO WONDER IT WAS ON CLEARANCE
I have been rolling out my own pasta dough for years and now that I am a bit older I can no longer do it anymore. I purchased this because it was less than buying an attachement for my kitchenaid. It does what they say it does but the motor slows down when kneeding the dough and the paster shape pieces allow the dough to come out but no matter how many times I use it, they stick, you can also see on the video on QVC.com that the pasta dough is sticking together after it comes out of the press. I use this maching to kneed my dough but I still roll it out myself because otherwise I have a BIG MESS to clean up. If I hadnt thrown away the box with the reciept I would send it BACK!!!
Not my failure-the machines
When I saw machine on special I thought, wow, I can make my own pasta super easy and have fun doing it. That isn't quite what happened. I loved the idea and concept. It made pasta ok. Thicker than I expected; but the dough did not extrude as easily as I thought it would, and while I didn't expect it to be super fast and speedy, I also didn't expect it to be so slow. Or maybe I just got a slow machine...Then, after to different recipes, I decided to get brave and try the Sausage maker attachment. Yeah...small yeah...Everything worked until I put it on extrude. Nothing happened...took it apart, checked meat, had proper amount, cleaned, reassembled (there's only one way it fits together), tried again...and tried, and tried. Finally after three attempts to get it to work, I disassembled machine, peeled and scraped meat off the parts, cleaned and washed it, and promptly returned to QVC with a phone call in advance saying machine apparently not working and defective and, No I did not wish to exchange for another one.
I was so very disappointed. I love pasta and really wanted this to work right. Color me sad...some day maybe it will be improved upon I would much rather pay a little more for product that works as stated. Hopefully in the future, meanwhile, will handmake or buy from store.
wort purchase ever
I would not recomment this product. I only used it twice. The plastic hinge broke off. The machine could not be used. I had to trash it. Not worh the money
I just made pasta last night and my husband loved it, as he said, "better than the one we buy at the store." He was worried as we have never tried to make pasta Easy to make. Went by the recipe they provided but will venture out and try new things.
This is awesome! I made the best Pasta with it! Just followed the directions, turned it on and there we went!! It was easy, FAST and tasty! I love it! I have only used it once so far but can't wait to use it more! I made the half recipe and it was more than enough for myself and my husband. It was PERFECT!!
I bought this for my husband for his birthday. He was so surprised when it came. He's been using it almost ever day. Any one that comes over for dinner he wants to do demonstration for them. So needless to say we have plenty of pasta to last us for a few months. I would recommend this to everyone.
Didn't turn on
Decided to use this today for Easter. Item didn't come with manual so I was going to try and figure it out on my own. Plug it in and NOTHING. Won't power on. Not very happy.
I have tried all the disc's & enjoy using. We have made various noodles with such ease. Easy clean up. Would recommend this for anyone who wants, enjoys, the taste of home made noodles.
Prior to this I've had two pasta makers in the past, one electric and one manual. The CooksEssentials Pasta Maker is by far the best. I've used it several times now and it works like a dream. Clean up is easier than I had expected and I don't have flour all over the kitchen when I'm done. Flour is really not expensive and we always have eggs as we have chickens. This means it is also cost effective. I will be making my money back on this in no time. I am thrilled to own this little gem. Thanks QVC
works well, fun, and my child eats it!
I've never made pasta before but decided to try. I've made 3 batches and each time it was easy and great. You do have to make sure it is all attached well or it will loosen open and batter will come out. But I quickly realized what I did wrong after reviewing the manual again.
I use 1/2 all purpose flour and 1/2 semolina. worked out well. You do have to let it dry well, 1 hour according to an internet search. ( the manual makes NO mention of this). If cooked too soon, will become pasty in the water. My son loves the pasta too- which was a big hit.
Despite the critics, it's not that hard to clean. My juicer is harder to clean than this. I did find the manual difficult at first to understand since it uses terms for each piece which most people wouldn't know initially.
I would recommend it. I was hesitant because of some of the reviews but it has worked well for me, perhaps because of the semolina flour and drying time 1hour.
doesn't turn on at all
Don't buy it. it doesn't even start after I resembled it. Don't buy it.
