CooksEssentials 8 quart Digital Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker
Best thing I ever bought!
I have never used a pressure cooker or knew anything about them so was afraid there might be quite a learning curve. It is easy! I use it a couple of times a week, sometimes twice in a day on the weekend. You can do everything the demo shows and it comes out with fast, tasty and TENDER foods. I have even made hard boiled eggs, omelettes, boiled noodles, french onion soup, and delicious split pea soup in it! Many recipes online and once you get the hang of it, you can make up your own. Planning to take it camping in the RV with us!
Only one flaw
I love this pressure cooker the only reason I gave it 4 stars is the nonstick insert liner got pitted after a couple of uses.I still use it, is great to cook fast meals it is safe and easy to use. Even my 14 year old daughter loves it. I will keep it and hope you can buy a new insert liner for it. Wonderful product just perfect it on the insert linger to stand up to pressure.I will be watching so come on guys make new liners and make sure we can can buy them for our cookers.
Best Purchase Ever!
This pressure cooker is amazing! I am now able to cook a wide array of main and side dishes in mere MINUTES... and the clean up is easy. This appliance allows me to come home from work and have an amazing home-cooked meal on the table within 30 minutes. Everything tastes like it has been slow cooked or baked for hours. AMAZING! I was a little intimidated at first, but once I used it the first time, I realized just how easy it is to operate. Wish I had purchased this long ago.
LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!
I AM SO EXCITED WITH MY NEW PRESSURE COOKER EVEN THOUGH IT TOOK ME A YEAR TO FINALLY ORDER IT. I WOULD HEARTELY RECOMMEND THIS TO EVERYONE!!!!!!
I received my pressure cooker and first thing I had to try was a pork roast for pulled pork. I love this! kitchen stayed cool and it only took less than half the time than if I had put it in the oven or on top the stove! Have done chicken also and it comes out so moist, even the white meat! Soups are done in no time! JUST LOVE IT!
I do have one concern, it seems the finish is chipping off the pot inside. I only use plastic, silicone or wood utensils. Would like to have the pot replaced but i don't have the original box and the cooker part works fantastic! Will be contacting QVC to see if i can just get the pot replaced.
Anyone that likes to cook and doesn't have time to wait forever for the food to be done, will love this! It's also easy to set, no confusing buttons or settings.
Inner pot finish already coming off
I just used this for the 1st time and was very happy with the result BUT, the inner pot is already flaking off and have email customer service about getting a new inner pot. I see on the manufacture site they do make an 8 QT stainless but I should not have to pay for one.
WOW WHAT A BUY
This is my 5th pressure cooker from Q.V.C. One I purchased as a gift for a younger friend who was just learning to cook. I currently have a 4 quart pressure cooker that I use some times 4 to 5 times a month. The l.e.d. lights are wearing out so I decided to move up in size. My first time using this Goliath pressure cooker I packed it with a 5.5lb chicken two large turkey wings and 3 turkey drum sticks. It cooked soooo quickly I couldn't believe it. Everything was cooked well, and it was delicious. I'm an experienced foodie. For someone else they may need practice before feeling confident to use a pressure cooker. I am thoroughly satisfied with this purchase. I'm single ,and I cook enough for several days. I also cooked two 2.5 lb beef roasts my first time using this fabulous machine. I remember David and his other host saying that when you need the larger capacity you'll have it, and you don't have to fill it up every time you cook.
This is the 2nd time I've tried cooking baby back ribs in the cooker. I thought I was doing it the correct way the first time....ribs were tough and burnt (not enough water added?) This time isn't going much better. I find the directions to be confusing especially when trying to set the thing to airtight - I just can't figure out.
26 minutes to a meal of roast, potatoes and carrots. Easy and fast dinner. It cooks itself, turns to warm when done and releases pressure. You just open the lid and enjoy. It's Great.
Love it but inner pot chipping away
I used this pressure cooker once and loved it, until I had to wash the inner pot. I used mild sop and a dish cloth and it started chipping away! Called to see if I can get a replacement pot if not it is going back and I will use my old Cook's Essentials I have used for years, just too small.
CHANGED MY LIFE! NO KIDDING!!
I'm a disabled customer, so cooking was no longer part of my life until last November, when I received this pressure cooker. Since the day it arrived, I've cooked in it EVERY SINGLE DAY! My younger brother lives with me, and is my primary caregiver. I always felt terrible that we had to live on food we could order in. Standing up at the stove to cook traditional Cajun meals was something that I simply could not do.
The very first thing that I cooked was a pot of southern-style red beans. I can't even tell you had good they were... each and every bean was infused with the flavor of the pork and seasoning that I always add to do a pot of beans! After that, we were hooked! This is, without a doubt, the best money I've ever spent. If you don't like to cook, or you're just tired of waiting on the pizza delivery guy to knock at the door, those days are over!! Along with Bob Warden's books, I was cooking a variety of food in no time! Now, my police-officer-brother is well fed, and I'm tickled to pieces that the pizza joint no longer knows me on a first-name basis!!! You'll never regret this purchase!!
Didn't like it
I bought this hoping to get better results than my Fagor stovetop model. So maybe it's just me but I didn't get very good results. Roasts were dry and tough despite following the recipe Bob Wardens perfect pot roast. Ribs some were tender some were tough. Then after 2nd use the Teflon starting chipping. I browned my meats on the stove in a separate pan and used silicone utensils. Also instructions were flaky. The recipes that came with it didn't even match the pressure cooker. For example: Chili, use stew/ soup button. they're 2 totally different buttons so which one? Sorry didn't work for me.
