CooksEssentials 8 quart Digital Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker
Wouldn't recommend at this time
I love QVC's smaller pressure cooker. So I thought I would get the bigger one to use for a larger gathering. This one is not as simply to use. The sliding lid has been a problem also the rubber gasket no longer seals. Like I said I love my smaller cooker this one just did not work easily from the time I got it. For me it would be a skip. Am planning to get a different one though.
Not so sure
I ordered the 8 quart Pressure Cooker June 2014. I thought it was going to be an answered prayer but I haven't found this to be true. My experience has been that all of my meats have come out dry instead of moist. The cut of the meat has been the best to the lowest quality and the end result has been the same. The cook time is cut in half but that's about it. If I use 2-3 cups of water, as recommended or more, the meats are still dry. All of the water washes the flavor away and I have to re-season and sometimes re-cook the meats on the stove to help soften. I have been following the steps and cooking time in the manual provided. Maybe I need to invest in a cookbook for the pressure cooker. Not sure if I am the only person who has had this experience.

After receiving the 6.5 qt CE pressure Cooker damaged & returned. I wanted to try the 8 qt cooker. I just received it yesterday & used it today. I used my own recipe for Stewed Chicken that I normally do on the stove. I browned the chicken & made a roux in the pressure cooker. Then I added my aromatic vegs & seasonings along with some chicken stock. The browning took a bit of time, but once I had the sauce done & added the chicken back to the cooker, it was done in 20 minutes plus a little time to get to pressure. I had 5 pounds of chicken thighs in there that cooked in 20 minutes. That is unheard of. I also cooked rice in it. That one I might have to play with a bit more, but it is edible.
I gave this 2 stars only because it works. It is bulky, heavy, and the display is uneasy to read. It does not come with any easy recipes. The interior pot nonstick coating is not durable. Stick with a regular pressure cooker.
So easy to use, well made, easy clean up.This would be a great wedding gift or Christmas gift.
The first time ever using a pressure cooker was 40+ years ago with a stove-top model we received as a wedding gift. I was terrified to use it, finally convinced by my husband to give it a try. We have since worn out two stove-top pressure cookers. It was time to replace the last one, and went with the Cook's Essentials 8 qt. digital electric pressure cooker. Wow! Great choice! We love this pressure cooker for the ease of use and easy clean-up. The directions in the manual are very helpful. I would encourage anyone on the fence about purchasing this to go ahead and take the plunge...you won't be disappointed! Thanks so much for a quality product!
best one yet
this pressure cooker is the best cooking one that i have purchased yet. i have a 6 qt a 5 qt and now this one. each has their own appeal, i use them almost daily. i love that there is so much less clean up in the kitchen. no splatters on the stove and hood and backsplash to clean up. this pressure cooker does everything it says it will and perfectly. i highly recommend it to anyone who is on the fence.
I used this a couple of times and then the non-stick lining of the pot started to flake off when cleaning.
Inner pot coating problem
Not a bad cooker for the price.. Works great and cleans up well. However, the inner pot coating chips off! If you can get past that..you'll like it!

Best thing I ever bought!
I have never used a pressure cooker or knew anything about them so was afraid there might be quite a learning curve. It is easy! I use it a couple of times a week, sometimes twice in a day on the weekend. You can do everything the demo shows and it comes out with fast, tasty and TENDER foods. I have even made hard boiled eggs, omelettes, boiled noodles, french onion soup, and delicious split pea soup in it! Many recipes online and once you get the hang of it, you can make up your own. Planning to take it camping in the RV with us!
Only one flaw
I love this pressure cooker the only reason I gave it 4 stars is the nonstick insert liner got pitted after a couple of uses.I still use it, is great to cook fast meals it is safe and easy to use. Even my 14 year old daughter loves it. I will keep it and hope you can buy a new insert liner for it. Wonderful product just perfect it on the insert linger to stand up to pressure.I will be watching so come on guys make new liners and make sure we can can buy them for our cookers.
