CooksEssentials 8 quart Digital Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker
non-stick coating flaked off
After using this 3 times, the non-stick coating on the removable pan peeled and flaked off. Very disappointing after the price paid.
I give this 5 stars everything I've cooked in it has come out so moist and tender and in less time
Was not able to use until 6 months after purchase, was sent with a cracked bottom but overlooked it. Love how fast it cooks and it cleans up great... Not sure if I'll use it again cause the pot has teflon blisters after one use. If only I had used it within the first week, I would ask for a replacement. Disappointed with this purchase.
This very safe electric pressure cooker is a cook's best friend. It cooks fresh or frozen foods to perfection, and in a hurry. I have cooked roast, ribs, soups, and mac and cheese just to mention a few recipes, but my most favorite is the Blue Jean Chef"s Gumbo recipe.
This machine is so much better than the old pressure cookers. I was skeptical because I was burned by one of the old fashioned type of pressure cookers when I was a young girl. This cooker is easy to use, safe, and worth the purchase price. Try it, I am sure you will keep it for many years.
Thanks QVC for offering up such wonderful products at such a reasonable price.
Loved it at first
I loved my pressure cooker at first, but after about 5 or 6 uses the non stick coating started to wear off of the inside of the pot. Since it flakes off into the food this item is now useless, and I guess I will look for one with a stainless steel pot. I am disappointed because I really liked it too.
Worst purchase from QVC
I am really upset about this purchase. I bought it for a present for my daughter and right after a year's use it quit working. My daughter said she used the pressure cooker maybe 10 times in that year at the most.
I notified QVC and was told this model was no longer being sold with their company. Well where does that let us---just out the money we paid for the purchase. I have bought many, many things from QVC over the years but definitely will never purchase anything from Cooks Essential again.
Wouldn't recommend at this time
I love QVC's smaller pressure cooker. So I thought I would get the bigger one to use for a larger gathering. This one is not as simply to use. The sliding lid has been a problem also the rubber gasket no longer seals. Like I said I love my smaller cooker this one just did not work easily from the time I got it. For me it would be a skip. Am planning to get a different one though.
Not so sure
I ordered the 8 quart Pressure Cooker June 2014. I thought it was going to be an answered prayer but I haven't found this to be true. My experience has been that all of my meats have come out dry instead of moist. The cut of the meat has been the best to the lowest quality and the end result has been the same. The cook time is cut in half but that's about it. If I use 2-3 cups of water, as recommended or more, the meats are still dry. All of the water washes the flavor away and I have to re-season and sometimes re-cook the meats on the stove to help soften. I have been following the steps and cooking time in the manual provided. Maybe I need to invest in a cookbook for the pressure cooker. Not sure if I am the only person who has had this experience.

After receiving the 6.5 qt CE pressure Cooker damaged & returned. I wanted to try the 8 qt cooker. I just received it yesterday & used it today. I used my own recipe for Stewed Chicken that I normally do on the stove. I browned the chicken & made a roux in the pressure cooker. Then I added my aromatic vegs & seasonings along with some chicken stock. The browning took a bit of time, but once I had the sauce done & added the chicken back to the cooker, it was done in 20 minutes plus a little time to get to pressure. I had 5 pounds of chicken thighs in there that cooked in 20 minutes. That is unheard of. I also cooked rice in it. That one I might have to play with a bit more, but it is edible.
I gave this 2 stars only because it works. It is bulky, heavy, and the display is uneasy to read. It does not come with any easy recipes. The interior pot nonstick coating is not durable. Stick with a regular pressure cooker.
So easy to use, well made, easy clean up.This would be a great wedding gift or Christmas gift.
The first time ever using a pressure cooker was 40+ years ago with a stove-top model we received as a wedding gift. I was terrified to use it, finally convinced by my husband to give it a try. We have since worn out two stove-top pressure cookers. It was time to replace the last one, and went with the Cook's Essentials 8 qt. digital electric pressure cooker. Wow! Great choice! We love this pressure cooker for the ease of use and easy clean-up. The directions in the manual are very helpful. I would encourage anyone on the fence about purchasing this to go ahead and take the plunge...you won't be disappointed! Thanks so much for a quality product!
