CooksEssentials 6 qt. Popcorn Maker with Automatic Stir Function
Love this product. I get 100% kernels popped every time. You just need to listen to the popping so that you turn it off when the popping slows down. The steam needs to escape before the lid will stay on, but you need to unplug it immediately when the popping slows and turn it over to take the popped corn off of the hot pan. I don't use the butter feature, so it really doesn't matter whether the cap stays on or not. When I turn it over, I just put the top on the cap if it has come off. I use the spray butter since it gives the flavor of butter, but very little calories.. I am very pleased with this product.
My kids love this popper! It does everything it says it can do except for the cap. It doesn't stay on, but not a huge deal. You have to pay attention to the popping or it could burn.
The Best I have used
If you are looking for a popper that delivers great popcorn with no burnt ones, this is it. I love it. Our last one burnt the bottom layer and had many unpopped seeds. I am always happy with Cooks Essentials products.
Ok but with small problems
I bought this popper to replace another brand one that finally broke. This is ok but
like others have said the plastic top that you are suppose to be able to cover the dome
will not stay on. It has never fit properly or stayed on. Also the popcorn at the bottom is
always burnt. It's only a small amount so I remove it and throw it away. It does pop the
corn well and is easy to clean. I would say it is ok but not great.
Did not receive the book! When used popcorn burnt! The red top does not fit the top of serving lid either! would say it was a total waste of money!
cap poorly made
I have wanted this popper for some time, and when I saw it on clearance. I ordered it.
I tried it today for the first time and was sadly disappointed. It does a good job making popcorn and not burning it, but when I put the plastic top on to turn it upside down, the cap kept popping off. Since I have used this, I have never been able to get the cap to stay on. When I tried to put the popcorn in another bowl, popcorn flew all over because of the width of the popping bowl. Pass on this one
Burns easy & fast
I was so happy to receive the popcorn maker, but it didn't take long to burst my bubble. I used it for the first time a few nights ago, followed the direction to a "T" and it still burnt the corn. I will be sending it back, sorry. I would say it has only 2 stars.
Made great popcorn
It made great popcorn, but the little red lid you are supposed to put on the top of the clear plastic lid before you poor out the popcorn won't stay on so we ended up burning part of the first batch trying to get the lid to stay on before we poured it out. You don't need the lid if you don't use butter like we did the first time and don't season and serve from the clear lid, but if included it should work. Haven't tried roasting nuts yet. I bought it because I don't want all the chemicals you get in microwave popcorn and when you put butter on popcorn it gets soggy anyway so it will work for my purpose and that's why I'm not bothering to send it back. I will try using healthy flavored ills and seasonings.
