CooksEssentials 5.25 qt. Square Digital Nonstick Pressure Cooker
electric pressure cooker
My daughter and I love the pressure cooker I. Bought her one and me one .Thumbs up!!!
Very worthy purchase...
Regarding the reviews about the fit of the pressure cooker, fyi, you MUST follow the "before first use" instructions. Then the lid and cooker will always fit perfect. So, after pressure cooking the water first as instructed, I made BBQ chicken wings in it. They took 12 minutes and came out to perfection. They were so tender, practically falling off the bone, cooked through and through. The browning feature is phenomenal. Not to mention the PLUS of the easy pay option. As it stands, superb perfomance, worth every red cent!!! Yay.
BTW, the reviews about it not working or not working properly, it is a product, there is going to be a malfunction from time to time due to the mass production, so don't be discouraged. Its worth sending back and reordering.
I have only had this a few days, it has been a great purchase! I have used another brand (a lot) and the steam mechanism broke. This is a very nice design and I have used it every day since getting it. I would strongly recommend this to everyone. It is perfect for 4 generous servings or small meal preps and great for sides and soups!
I love it!
I received this as a birthday gift. I was hesitant because I remember the old-time pressure cooker my Dad used. This is so easy to use. I made a pot roast using the recipe in the manual provided with it. It came out tender and delicious! I will get rid of my old slow cooker since this is also a crockpot. A definite keeper!
Worst Product I ever bought!!
I ordered this as a Christmas gift from my sister, and boy am I ever sorry!!! I just tried it for the first time today, Feb. 1. I put in a 2.5 pound roast, which I had to chop up to get it to fit in there, and after 7 hours of cooking it still isn't done. I was going to put it on for a few more hours, but there is NO WAY the lid will go on. I fought with it for over a half hour and STILL can't get it to go on. It is a horrible design. As soon as I can find a box it will fit in, it's going back. DO NOT BUY THIS...YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!
Best purchase ever
You will love this one. Very quiet. Cook very good brown a Porkchop cook for 15 minutes eat your heart out. Cabbage in three minutes.
I bought this product because I don't often pressure cook but I was impressed by it's multi-functionality. Ability to brown and then pressure cook in one pot. There is also the ability to keep foods warm, slow cook and steam in one unit. Everything I have used this product for has produced excellent results. It's easy to clean and easy to use.
If It Worked I'd Give it More Stars
I shop QVC frequently and have for years, but have never written a review until now. We have been wanting an electric pressure cooker, so after reading reviews (none were perfect) I selected this one. During the initial test:, it never reached full pressure. It would only get to 10 psi or so and then drop. Am returning; looking at Emeril's 6 qt from another source now.
Works for me
I have cooked several things in it beef ribs, whole fryer chicken over 4 lbs no complaints here.
I find it to be durable. cooks essentials has always been a good line
This heavy, large piece of equipment advertised as over 5 quarts actually has only about 2 quarts of usuable cooking space. The recipe book with it calls for a 5 lb chicken to start chicken soup. My 3.5 lb. chicken well exceeding the entire cooking space. Further, it did not maintain the correct pressure. I returned it and purchased a 6 quart machine elsewhere with which I've had no problems.
Pressure Cooker Wow
Oh My Gosh! I bought this pressure cooker about 1 month ago. What a great buy! I have used this more than I use my stove or oven, as a matter of fact I just dust my stove now. This is the best thing since Cotton Candy!
I am very pleased with it and I don't even feel like I'm cooking its so fast and easy!
Thank you for having it..
And It Can Slow Cook Too
This is my second electric pressure cooker, so I'm familiar with them. I threw out the first one, from a very well known competitor, because it didn't have enough settings and things weren't marked well, so if I hadn't used it in a while I'd always have to go hunt for the manual again and I always had to guess if I had it on pressure or steam or whether it was really locked or not. Problems solved here with huge permanent white letters on black lid STEAM PRESSURE with a moving handle to move to one or the other. Great for an older guy like me. Square shape is great. I had browsed several other cookers on QVC and chose this one because of the many settings available. While I don't slow cook too often, this one will allow me to do so, so that was a deal maker and I've also tossed the old heavy clunky slow cooker. Price great, got it in the red. Only thing is, when I download separate cookbooks onto my Kindle and they give recipes for dessert things like cheeecakes or brownies, I can't imagine what small size round pans would fit into this unit, and don't know if CooksEssentials site itself could inform me of that, but that is hardly a priority.
