Rated 5 out of 5 by Joyous207 A big hit
I bought this a few months ago and only made one batch (which was great, BTW) just to make sure it worked. Just used it for a Christmas Eve party and the ice cream was a great hit. The only downside was waiting for it to be ready. My nephew loved the ice cream so much, I had to get him his own maker!

I haven't had a chance to use this but looking through the recipes, I agree with anothers review. They need to rewrite that booklet for us Americans that don't have the 1/5 or 1/3 teaspoon or something like that. Can't wait to try it though.

Simple-easy to use and clean-up! Performs as promised and finished ice cream is delicious. Vanilla recipe can be altered simply by adding any flavored syrup.

I was hesitant to buy this but I was tired of having to freeze the bowl of my KitchenAid attachment. It took up so much room in the freezer. Yes this makes only a 3/4 of a quart but I just make up another batch to use up all of my recipe.
I really like this. It is compact and easy to use.

Easy to use. The machine does all of the work. Now I can enjoy blackberry ice cream with worrying about extra ingredients.

very expensive considering the small amount of ice cream it makes, also it starts melting so fast that before you can dish out the ice cream in the unit there is a lot of liquid in the bottom.....definitely not worth the money.
Rated 5 out of 5 by jim Schneiter Great machine, perfect size
Works wonderfully. Nice and dense with little air incorporated. Perfect size for empty nesters.
Google Jenni's Ice Cream base for a good starter recipe; requires cooking but no eggs - makes 2 batches. Try roasted strawberry or peach (Google Martha Stewart for roasted fruit technique).
Don't want to cook? Google Philadelphia style ice cream.
Hard ice cream setting too soft? ALL professional ice cream freezer machines make "soft serve". Curing in the freezer for a few hours is required to harden all ice cream.
For the rest of the nay-sayers, keep visiting your supermarket's frozen section.

I discovered that using the easy basic recipe with half & half, sweetened condensed milk backing off about 1/8 cup and then add your choice of Soda stream syrup to make up just over 1 1/2 cup total and you can have any flavor ice cream you want. I usually use a bit less than 1/2 c sweetened condensed milk because it gets too sweet. With root beer syrup and soft serve you have a root beer shake. Use 3 T marichino cherry syrup + cherrys and you have a good cherry ice cream. Try stirring in fudge topping before putting in freezer and you get cherry chocolate fudge swirl ice cream. Add bananas and pineapple for a banana split. Tomorrow I am trying Coffee Mate in pumpkin flavor.
