K31671 - Cook's Essentials Nonstick Pancake Puff & Snack Maker
So many uses!
This little machine has so many uses. I've even seared my meatballs in it before I put them in the oven to bake. No frying less calories. I bet you will love it too.
Oh What Fun
Great little toy. We had fun making savory cheesy ones and carrot cake ones so far. All sorts of possibilities.
Made a trial run batch this morning! WONDERFUL! Was worried when i saw some of the reviews. I used Bisquick just to try it out, came out great! And really easy! Filled them with Nutella and cherry pie filling. Yummmy! Ordering the cook book just for kicks!
Great Little Machine!!
I just finished making the most delicious little puff pancakes!! I was hesitant after reading the reviews, but I found nothing wrong with this. It's fun to use. I used a log cabin pancake mix, and made them with a slice of banana in the middle, and also just the plain ones. I used a toothpick to turn them, and had no problems at all. I got the cookbook, and will be using that too. One trick is to try to move them a little with the toothpick, and if there is any resistance, just wait a little longer. When its ready, it will not stick at all. They do not take long at all. I'm glad I bought this. It gives you another option for breakfast or snacks.
You have to ber very careful
This item is a great idea....but you have to keep a very close eye on it so it doesn't burn the batter and cooks evenly. It would have been better to have an adjustable heat setting on it. It takes some getting used to. I practiced with some pancake mix and they didn't turn out very well. I kept trying and I finally felt like they turned out decent. Much of the batter was wasted in trying to perfect the balls. Not worth the price to return so I am keeping it.
Waited a week before using product. My grandkids and I found product to be too hot and puffs burned too quickly on outside with inside a little too moist with jelly. I am sending back.
Fun in the kitchen!
My 14 year old daughter saw this while watching ITKWD last Sunday and begged us to buy it. We used it Saturday using the simple box biscuit/pancake mix. The puffs were quite tasty and my daughter had a great time making them herself. She made them again today and they were a hit with the boys too. Great item, just be careful as with any appliance as it does get hot. We used wooden chopsticks to flip and they worked great!
Concept is good, product is not.......
Once I saw this on presentation, I knew that I wanted to get it for my grandson and myself to make all the different kinds of Aebelskivers. In fact, I purchased the book and was ready to start making them. I was very disappointed because, #1. the holes were so very small, #2. the temperature is preset and mine must be set way too high as they were burning before I could turn them. I worked pretty fast to over come that problem but the only way to accomplish making them without burning is to only make 4 at a time and then I still had to turn them before the tops were ready, #3 there was such a mess with doing that, that I finally said, "No way". I also purchased from a Aebelskiver comp. three bags of the premix that they use in their restaurant so that I could produce very tasty puffs of danish pancakes. So, I am stuck with three large bags of mix, (I will find another use for them) but, box or no box, this pan is going back!
I am at a loss for words when it comes to presentations as on the air, they demonstated several pre heated pans and even took their time as far as turning the puffs over and yet, everyone was cooked to a light golden brown. QVC should take more control and make sure that these pans are as those that are used on the air. Reviewing the video again, I did not see one puff that was burnt. I just might go out and purchase a tried and true Aebelskiver pan and make them the old fashioned way, larger puffs and a heat source that I, myself control. I would not recommend this pan to any of my family or friends. Sorry QVC, but this one is not a keeper. Cooks Essentials really let me down this time.
I really love the convenience and the quickness in the heating of the pan. The heating element is a bit uneven, but it is easy to adjust to by switching around the pastries. I actually own two other iron ebelskiver pans but what I appreciate about this one is that it is mobile and light weight. Also the fact that it heats up quickly can save time. I also purchased the cookbook for more ideas. I am looking forward to trying those recipes with this pan.
not what I expected
If I had kept the box I would have sent t his back. Very disappointed.
Kids Love It!!
This nifty little gadget is fun to use with the kids. We made apple cinnamon chip filled puffs that the kids liked "way better than store bought donuts" and I know what's going into them. We also used a cake mix to make cake like puffs that we cut in half and whoopie pies out of. They were all so excited to use it. In my house this was a must have!
Another great gadget!
I wanted an ebelskiver pan and I saw this on QVC. i bought it and tried it for the first time this morning! It is fantastic. I loved making the ebelskivers and did not have to worry about the proper temperature. The first attempt was a little flat but I got the hang of it and the rest of the batch was perfect. You can use your packaged pancake mix or one of the recipes in the booklet. If you love to cook and like different things this is a great addition to your kitchen.
