K5780 - Cook's Essentials Electric Chocolate Fondue Fountain
Very Good Chocolate Fountain for the money
Recently a friend of mine spent $200 and bragged about how great her fountain was. I went to her party and yes, her fountain was nice, but this one is just as nice, for a whole lot less money. Just be sure to add the oil to the chocolate to make it smooth. My 13 year old daughter is having a New Year's party and we put white chocolate in it and it looks wonderful. The kids will enjoy it, no doubt and my daughter feels like quite the hostess with it in the center of the table.
Thanks, QVC -- great deal!
Great Fun for the Money!
I recently used this for a Halloween party. I used Wilton chocolate specially made for fondue/fountains, and it worked good. While it didn't look like the photos, with the chocolate streaming over in a wall, it was great for the "fun factor". Would recommend for kids' parties, and informal parties where you just want something different. Works fine for me!
Chocolate Fondue Fountain
I love this product. My 10yr old daughter and I just made the cutest pretzel rods and decorated them for her class treat. To get the best results use only candy from a specialty candy store. Our pretzels, candy and decorations for 30+ people was under $15.00 . Far cheaper than if you purchased them already made. And it's a nice way to spend funtime with the kids. They'll love it!
Pretty good fountain. I may spend a little more money on my next fountain--this one isn't very durable and doesn't look as nice as other fountains I have seen. It has an average number of features and is a little bit on the loud side when running. But, I was attracted to it because of its low price and am happy with the fountain--it gets the job done. I used Just Melt It! chocolate in this fountain--excellend chocolate! Overall, the fountain is effective if you're looking for an average product.
I bought this fountain for a wine and cheese party that I was having and thought it would be a fun addtion to the party. Well....it was a big hit. I ordered it on a Monday for a party on Friday....added the 2 day shipping and it was here in two days...Then I read the other reviews and got nervious (because there are some bad ones out there). I got my candy from a candy making store...I choose the kind I bought by asking the clerk at the store. It is true that cocoa butter/oil has to be one of ther first few ingridients in the chocolate itself. Well party night came and I started the melting process early (about 1 hour early)....My son and I were extremly happy when we turned on the motor and saw the chocolate cascade over the top so nicely. It was a huge hit at the party and it provided 4 hours of fun. Thanks QVC!
5 times of use only
I used the fountain 4 times very successfully, and I was happy. The 5th time I used it (July 12) for a birthday and an anniversary party, the heating element quite working so the chocolate wouldn't melt. I had to throw it away. This product should not have the Cook's Essential name on it as it doesn't stand for quality.
I had bought for my wedding three years ago a $75 fountain that could hold 5-6 lbs of chocolate. I have not used my fountain yet, but I can tell you it will be fantastic! The overall quality of the fountain is overwheling. The plastic is good grade and you don't have to be so 'careful' with the parts. I bought two fountain for an wedding I am helping with (one for milk chocolate, one for white chocolate) and I will be the hostess with the mostest with my new fountains!!! I am blown away by te quality! $20.00 well spent!!
I used this for the first time this weekend and it was great! I used regular chocolate chips from the store, melted them on the stove added some vegetable oil and put it in the machine. It flowed for hours with no problems at all! I may have to get a second!
Would not recommend!
I bought 2 of these, one for myself and one for my sister in-law for Christmas. Neither of us has ever been able to get them to work properly. The chocolate just won't flow at all. Very disappointing.
Disappointed in flow of chocolate
Was excited to use this for the first time at a party. However, the chocolate was slow to melt and then it never did flow well even after adding more and more oil. Luckily the party consisted of girls who were happy to just have melted chocolate to eat! Hopefully, the next tme will be better. In any case, will continue to use but proobably without the 'fountain' part.
My mother-in-law bought this for me for Christmas, because I love to host parties and I have a lot of classes at my house. I used it for the first time Monday night (just to make sure it worked right). I then took it to my sucess meeting for my business on Tuesday evening. Everyone loved it and it flowed so beautifully. I used dark chocolate and yes, I did have to add some oil to make it thinner. Althought, it didn't change the taste of the chocolate at all (I was very surprised). It was such a hit that my Director asked me to bring it back in a couple of weeks for a chocolate night we are going to have. This is definately worth the $20.
10 yr old operates with ease
This fountain was a gift fior my grandson who happens to have Asperger's He is Always inquisitive and loves "busy" projects. He operates this with ease . I buy him Pretzels and the Chocolate in Bulk. He and his brother are going to do the Valentine and Easter Candy thing! Always a parent or granmma close at hand of course.
