I am using these along a fence that is outside 2 bedroom windows and my home office. I was tired of looking at a fence all day long but have no dirt or irrigation available on this side of house for real plants. Tried the rolls of fake ivy but they looked cheap and ugly. These are great because of the nice wood trellis, adds a decorative touch to fake ivy. I have also intertwined small peach rose bud vines to add color and texture. Looks amazing from inside the house. They are expensive so if they don't last long this is not cost effective. No snow or even rain here in CA should be ok for a while.
Rated 5 out of 5 by allaretaken Perfect to stop a snoopy neighbor
I first got this as an inexpensive solution along my un-walled/unenclosed porch to get some privacy from a snooper. It works great! He cannot see if I am out there but I can see him drive by! I can finally sit outside on my porch and relax in privacy! This is my second set and I am planning on getting another to fill in. Another benefit is the beauty of it. I sent a picture of it around my porch to a friend and she raved about it..thinking it was real, and also thinking I sent her a picture out of a magazine!
The only downside is the first set seems to be fading a tiny bit, but I will be getting a fabric spray to try to preserve it better. I live in Arizona and the first set has been up for several months during the very hot weather and in the very hot sun. It has also survived beautifully during the windy rainy monsoon season. Not a leaf gone!
So until I am able to afford getting my porch enclosed...this will do the trick!

I love these, they're beautiful and I didn't notice a smell. I bought them as a tsv and put them on both ends of my front porch, it looks beautiful. I plan to get more if they are a tsv again.

I've been looking for 'something' to cover a horrible view from my kitchen window! The small shed in my neighbor's yard is against my proper line and it has a large, ugly, smear of what appears to be tar. I tried bushes, flowers, paint, and a trellis...but nothing lasted long enough or didn't do the job of covering it. I used 5 panels to cover 90% of the concrete shed and spray painted the open sections first. I love it! The panels did the trick
I now look out my kitchen window and see a wall of ivy! .

I purchased a set on easy pay because I wan't sure how fake they would look once installed. I tied the fences on each side of the balcony and it provides the privacy I need. After about 2-weeks I decided to keep the set.
I think these are a great cost effective idea if you are on a budget and want a no-fuss solution for instant privacy or to hide something ugly. When you get up close to the fences, you can see its obviously a fake, but from a near distance you really can't tell. For those complaining that it doesn't look like the real thing, should go out an BUY the real thing! The bamboo smell from un-packing didn't not bother me since we placed the fences outside. Plus after a couple of weeks it wears off. I suggest that you give it a try. It can always send it back if you don't like it.
Rated 2 out of 5 by MWS poor quality & odor
These are very cheap quality although they do serve some purpose. In addition, not only do they smell horrible but the green "leaves" fade to nothing after one season. Then what ?

Rated 5 out of 5 by P R Stornable Great Idea!!!
This is simply the greatest idea to make things look beautiful and at the same time to hide something ugly!! I have to say this is my third set that I'm buying and I have'nt had any problems with them. I have them along my fence behind my gazebo and along the bottom of my dog kennel. Actually it was my husband who put them behind the gazebo. He put my wicker furniture in the gazebo along with a rug. He put two of these along the fence behind the loveseat and they look beautiful!! Plus it gives you privacy from the neighbors!! We used two so it had a more fuller look. You determine how full you want it; one would work. But two is better. They really do expand pretty far!!! Your're the designer!! I have to say they're very well made. I have'nt had any problems with mine. Have had some really bad storms lately and I have to say they really held up well. Did'nt lose one leaf. Look Beautiful!! Love Them!!
