I was excited to get this lantern since it seemed like a good solution for power blackouts. It gives off good light, but unfortunately, NONE of the panels work which was the feature that attracted me to this item in the first place. I'm very disappointed and will be returning this item.

We haven't used it much but so far it is a fantastic purchase! I am thinking about getting some more to have.

Read other reviews about one section not lighting - didn't get a chance to see if this was also my case, battery pack wouldn't open to insert batteries! Tried everything including using a screw driver and still it won't open. Returning it.

I always thought Coleman made great products, I just received my order today 10/17/16 and took it out of the box and only 1 of 3 Panels worked, I put in 4 New D Batteries, still didn't work, I tried to unscrew panel in the back with 2 different screw drivers one being a power screwdriver, screws would not come out..... I should have listened to the other bad reviews.....THIS ITEM IS JUNK, DONT BUY......and I normally do not leave Bad reviews, so take my advice and don't purchase

I really love this lantern. It will be of great use over the winter.
The light from all sections are super nice.
However it is not really rechargeable, is it?
The three sections charge off the base and the base uses D batteries.
One section did not work so I replaced the rechargeable batteries with
normal batteries. It works fine now.
Just saying it is NOT really a rechargeable lantern. I still like it though.

Nice lantern - the instructions are a little overdone - multiple languages... really confusing.
Hard to find out about the batteries - found the base batteries - Size D... And then the little panels light - which in the instructions talks about re-chargeable batteries (not completely sure about this...).
And then the link to a video comes and the video doesn't even address the panel lights or the batteries needed for these to be independent.
I may contact Coleman about this stuff.
It would have been much better if this was at least shipped with batteries.
