Clickfree 750GB External Hard Drive
* * * Peace Of Mind * * *
Living in an area that recently was hit by a tornado I got to thinking real hard what it would feel like if I lost my babies pictures due to mother nature......
As soon as I got this I sat down and took care of things..... This was so very easy and I am no computer brain by no means ! ! I took out, hooked up to my laptop and just sat back.... After just a very short bit, I seen a screen open up showing that it was already getting my information off my laptop.... I think it took around 24 minutes to record all my information and showed me what all was being copied while doing so.......
Let me tell you how close this granny came to loosing my grandbabies pictures and videos..... The very next day my computer got in a bad mood... I do not know what happened, I just seen a msg that said to contact the manufacturer to go any further...I have been using this laptop for 2 years already...... After a couple minutes staring at this black screen it shut down completely..... I can't explain the relief I felt because, it was less than 15 hours earlier, I downloaded my laptop info into my Clickfree.......
I love the fact that I can put my computer and 3 other items on here also to back up and have piece of mind....
I did take a permanent magic marker and put my name & phone number on the front just in case it gets tossed thru the air by not staying in my purse......
Fast and Easy
I chose this product after doing a fair amount of research on a variety of options. Read the reviews and decided to give it a try. I am very happy with the results. It was a very easy process, took about 20 minutes to do the backup and now I have peace of mind that all my data is backed up and secure.
I needed an easy way to backup my files and this system privided an easy means to do that. I use Windows XP on a refurbished Dell PC and all that I did was plug the Clickfree into my USB socket and the built in program did the rest for me!
This was a good purchase because I have in times past lost many years of data when my former computers would crash and the information was unretrievable!
I would recommend this to anyone who needs to get a computer backup device.
Simple to use
I am not very good with new technology, however, this back-up drive is so simple to use! Plug it in, click it, it runs itself and then tells you when the back-up is complete! This would be a great gift for anyone who wants to protect and safeguard their documents, pictures, etc.
Easy as pie!
My laptop is getting some age on it and is full of photos and documents that I would be devastated if I lost them due to a computer malfunction. I wanted the Clickfree since it was reportedly easy to use and could be used on multiple computers. The Clickfree was simple to install and the computer and the external drive did the rest! It did take a while for the process to complete as I had a lot of data on the computer, but I had absolutely no difficulty at all with the product. I have not moved on to one our other computers, so I cannot comment yet about the ease of backing up multiple computer's data but based on the experience with the first, this was well worth the cost of the device.
LOVE my Click-Free
I have had a click free for years, got it at QVC a while ago, but it's great. I loved it the first time I used it because it was so easy, and every few months I back everything up and never have to worry....it's the best.
U don't have to be an expert to use this...
This device is amazing. I just basically plugged it up and it did everything on it's own and no I didn't have to do anything else other than press a button or two. it just starts working as advertised. I have emptied my flash drives not only on my computer but on this clickfree back up device. I am a student and have quite a few years to go, so I would like to go back and look on some work to give me some tips if I happen to lose my way. I do have to go inside and erase some duplicates of pictures I had on my computer and flash drive. This is great for students and anyone who saves anything on their computer.
Would not work for me.
Tried everything and could not get this to work. I even went on line and read all that could be found on Clickfree. I have an older Dell from 2005. Could this be a problem? Maybe there should be some qualifying statements when presenting this. It may not be a problem of the device, but some computers may not be able to use it.
This is not easy at all to use, as described. I plugged it into my HP laptop, which uses Windows Vista, nothing. A blue light appeared on the device and a click free window appeared for two seconds on my screen. Not enough time to read the message. I tried everything that the online manual suggested, but it still won't work. I was about ready to pack it up and send it back, when my husband suggested that he try it on his laptop, which uses Windows 7. It worked! The product description says that it works on ALL editions of Vista, as well as XP, Windows 7 and 8. Other than the different operating systems on the two laptops, the only thing I can come up with to keep the Click Free from backing up Vista, is my McAfee security. I'm somewhat technically challenged, so this product not being easy for me to use, has been a very frustrating experience.
NOT AS EASY AS PRESENTED
I thought all I would have to do is plug it in and it would back up my files. I plugged it in and had no idea whether it was doing anything at all. I typed in clickfree in the start program field on my computer and lo and behold an instruction manual!! The instructions in the box just tell you to plug it in. That's it. If I had relied on that I could've been backing up nothing for who knows how long. Once I read the manual it was relatively easy. I was even able to copy my IPOD music which was lost in a crash back to my computer using this device and plugging the ipod in simultaneously. Don't know why it doesn't come with a paper manual explaining all that it can do. I hate having to do all the leg work to find answers. If you don;t know much about computers you probably would have no idea where to find help. Manufacturers need to get back to providing complete instructions in the box not this online research stuff. Not everyone wants to waste time hunting and seeking for guidance. Now that I found my way it seems to work pretty well......
I had a clickfree for a couple of years, and it worked fine...then I bought a new
computer, and went from windows 7 to windows 8. I lost everything on the click free.
this has never been mentioned on qvc, or maybe I missed that little detail...now I own
a simple external hard drive. so be careful when you transfer from a windows 7 to a windows 8. it may work fine if you're not transferring.
A Worry Free Device - Wise Purchase
I'm really glad I bought this Clickfree for my computers. If you use Windows 7 and you want to transfer your programs/information to another computer that uses Windows 7, this is the perfect device. It doesn't matter if its a Desktop or Laptop, it works on both. The Clickfree replaces...Lapkink and some of the other transfer cables out there because they will only work if you are using a different version of Windows i.e; XP to Vista, or Vista to Windows 7. Clickfree does it all. It is a good purchase and a necessary tool for saving your files.
