Clickfree 500GB External Hard Drive
This product worked just as advertised. I had a laptop that couldn't be repaired and the Clickfree saved everything! I was especially concerned about photos and all my bookmarked pages and it came through 100 percent.
Lost my hard drive, love my ClickFree
I just ran a Restore from my ClickFree after having my hard drive unexpectedly go bad, and it worked like a dream! Thank you ClickFree! Highly recommended.
I JUST GOT MY EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE FOR BACKUP AND HAVE ALREADY USED AND EVEN I COULD DO !!! IT WAS SO EASY AND HAS TOTALLY GIVEN ME PEACE OF MIND BECAUSE MY COMPUTER IS ABOUT 5 YEARS OLD BUT STILL HANGING IN THERE BUT JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE IT GIVES IT UP, PLAN ON GETTING A NEW ONE BUT HAVE TO PAY SOME THINGS OFF FIRST
DO NOT HESITATE ON GETTING THIS IT WAS SIMPLE AND JUST AS SIMPLE TO DOWNLOAD INTO MY NEW PC WHEN I GET IT
Do Not Waste Your Money
Simply put, it did NOT work. Got a new computer and wanted to transfer my files to it and nothing happened. So disappointed. I don't have $100 to throw away and looks like that is exactly what happened.
Is a time saver
I would be lost without the Click Free Back Up!!! I have an older model, but this is a TOTAL time saver. It has saved me countless hours of having to re-enter all of my files.
Thank you for having a wonderful product !!!!!
dont buy this
bought this to back up my laptop.seemed to work...once.... i went to backup again and nothing happened. after many calls with tech support, still no backup... what a waste of a hundred dollars!!!!
Don't Waste Your Money!
I bought 2 of these drives knowing that I would need to eventually back up and replace my laptop. While instructions enclosed in the box are limited, it seemed easy enough to use when I finally initiated a back up. Flash forward to me finally purchasing a new laptop and finally getting around to plugging in my drive to transfer all my files (photos, letters, 200 GB worth of music) only to have nothing happen. Drive light flashed and then nothing. Went to Clickfree website to get assistance. Because I could not find anything posted that would help, I entered an online chat with a technician. He walked me through several troubleshooting scenarios only to tell me that he believed my drive to be "defective". I was obviously dumbfounded as well as upset. I was told not to worry. The technician said they could replace the drives. Well, isn't that just great! I lost absolutely everything but I get a shiny new drive. I told the technician I realized it was not his fault personally but wanted my displeasure on record to the company. It was at this point I was told that I should have used 2 back up drives. REALLY! Do they tell people that when they buy them? I don't think so. Sad thing is I bought 2 drives only to find that both work better as doorstops than they do back-up/transfer drives. I told Clickfree to save their postage as I can't trust using them again. Save your memories and important personal files with another product.
This worked PERFECTLY
I had to write this review & simply comment that I'm a TOTAL BLONDE with computer gadgets. I bought this ClickFree 1 month ago & it backed up everything twice. I received a new HP computer with Windows 8, plugged in the Clickfree, & I'll admit I almost got frustrated, but once I went to Start the Back & remembered the presentation of ClickFree that within the Start Up is also the Restore. It said it was going to back up in 60 sec but I clicked the Restore button, & voila...it started restoring all my info & was done in about 30 min or so. I unplugged and found all my pics and video on my new HP PC with Windows 8.
For those who had issues I don't know what to tell you but for those who haven't bought this and are thinking about it...take if from a TOTAL BLONDE, if I can figure it out in less than 15 minutes anybody should be.
Hate the Clickfree
I purchased one of these over a year ago & wish I'd spent a bit more time checking it out while I could have still sent it back. At first it seemed like it worked great on my Windows 7 laptop...then I backed up my old desk top that was Windows XP to add the files to my laptop - it seemed like it worked but you cannot look at the files to see what's backed up, it's strickly a summary. I've been hesitant to trust it with all my pics, music and business files so I ended up going out and buying a WD - I was doing a double file save on both the click free and WD. Today I tried to do a backup to the Clickfree and it stayed frozen and didn't copy any files and wouldn't close. I'm at the point that I don't trust it to not screw up my computer. What a waste of money and at $100 for 500 gigs it's no bargain dollar wise either.
Cannot View Files that I backed up!
Thought my Clickfree was great - backing up whole computers easily over the past several months. Then I went to access some files on the backup., Guess what, I can't! When the opening window asks if you want to view files, guess what? I can only view the file NAMES, not the files themselves! I checked with Clickfree tech support and they confirmed it! Supposedly, for the integrity of the backup. Somehow, I knew the Clickfree was too good to be true, now I know why!
I am so upset that I wasted money on this it worked great backing up my computer but now that I got a new computer with windows 8 it is not compatible what was the point of backing up my old computer if I can't transfer any of it to my new computer.
Read the reviews!
This may work great...I have no idea. It does not work with desktop computers, and it does not work with Windows 8, so I sent it back.
