Previous version had much softer leather and they were waterproof also. Wish I still had them! These are very stiff as others have stated.

These boots are so uncomfortable on I could not even consider going out of the house in them. I tried them on, walked around the house for about 15 minutes, took them off boxed them up and sent them right back! Terrible!!!

I purchased these Clarks boots in the brown color and chose to wear them for the first time in a torrential rainstorm we incurred here in Massachusetts on Tuesday. After sloshing through over two inches of wind driven rain and deeper puddles I had to give these boots a five star rating. I would have rated them even higher if such an option were available. I take a size 11 and based on the reviews I did purchase the wide to allow room for heavy socks when necessary. It was 60 degrees here so I wore a thin trouser sock. I cannot understand what the fuss is all about and the poor reviews. These are so comfortable, easy to slip into and remove, and above all my feet were totally warm and dry. I did not experience any sense of heaviness, no tightness around the ankle, the zipper was not tight around the top of my foot...just great comfort, warmth, and my feet were amazingly dry considering the conditions I was schlepping around in. I am so very impressed with the collar that is a great addition in stopping any rain from entering through the top. There is a nice amount of gusseting within the zipper that is an added feature in keeping the rain out. If you are looking for a great boot that is attractive, elevated by the new quilting, and functional this is a great choice and will work just as well in the snow. Thank you Clarks for another great item that performs just as it should.

Its very hard to find waterproof These have a stiff neck to prevent over the top slop and they are perfect for that. I want to know what happened to the Ortholite fusion insole that the tag on the shoes indicates are inserted in the shoes! No such thing. I looked them up online and they sell for 19.95 on Amazon! Not nice.....They fit my size 6-1/2 foot with thick socks in a size seven boot perfectly. The sole is heavy and thick but that's just what you need if you're going to go out and play in the snow...thats exactly what grandma is going to do with these. .

Boots are cute, seem to run a bit small but not a problem as I am not a true size 6. Positive they are warm and keep your feet dry when walking. The issue is how stiff and uncomfortable they are at the ankle. Have worn a few times but they don't seem to have any bend. Wish I had retuned these.

I needed a pair of boots for the wet weather and winter time. I wear a size 12W. These are narrow, heavy, and a bit too small for me. I have a few pair of Clarks in 12W. I now realize I need to order from Zappos; a company that has free returns. This is the 3rd pair of Clarks I have returned due to sizing.

Gave them one star only for the shipping return policy. Plus they are a very heavy boot.
I have many many pairs of Clarks both dressy and casual and I love them all and wear them all the time but I learned my lesson not only about shoes/boots but about anything further I purchase and I have bought for many years from QVC.. I never thought I would have to return these boots. I put them on immediately when received. They fit perfect but were so very very heavy on my feet and they bent in on the sides and poked my ankles and made them sore. I wore them for a while to see if things got better but no such luck. I was very disappointed. I would never have bought them in the first place if their weight was mentioned in the description on line. I wear size 7 l/2, 5' 3" tall and 120 lbs.
I spent $10.96 in original shipping charges and then $6.95 shipping when I returned them. That's a few pennies short of $18.00 and I have nothing to show for it.
From now on I will only purchase things I know I will keep unless they have free shipping. I just can't waste that much money.

I really wanted to like these boots, but they are really stiff around the ankles. I felt like I was wearing the box and not the boot.
