A226696 - Clarks Bendables Chris Ava Leather Ankle Boots w/Side Goring
Fits well, is true to size
I got the black pair in 11 W and they fit just as I hoped they would. They're comfortable and I like the look. I was surprised that they leaked though, but I did step into a puddle and these don't claim to be waterproof. Over all they are fine, but I would have like to pay a bit less......
Quality Control Issue at Clark's??
How could so many women have such a wide experience with the same pair of shoes from such a reputable brand like Clark's? And it's not just on this one shoe - I've been noticing this across the board for other shoe and boot reviews from Clark's. This usually happens for one reason - a change in management at Clark's that is affecting their Quality Control in departments like design and raw goods. QVC should, if they don't already, monitor customer reviews for trends like this so they can address these customer problems with Clark's or any other vendor that has started to have reviews that are all over the board, especially from a company like Clark's with a long history of excellence.
Love these Boots!
I absolutely love these boots. I could wear them all day long everyday - they are so comfortable. I first purchased a pair in black, then went back and purchased a pair in brown. I love them so much that I bought another pair of brown and black for future use. I wear an 8 wide and they fit true to size.
I received these for a Christmas gift. I was thrilled to get them. I got ready to wear them Christmas afternoon and the boots were 2 different sizes! The left shoe felt like the correct size but the right was too narrow and too short. Since different styles of Clark boots and shoes fit differently, it was impossible to know which boot was the correct size. (They were both marked 7.5 W.) I sent them back as defective, asking that S&H both ways be refunded, along with the price of the boots. We'll see if QVC steps up to the plate. I have reordered them, hoping this was a minor glitch in Clark's QC.
I love my black booties! I had no trouble whatsoever -- just plain comfort. I wear them with slacks or jeans and they look great! True to size for me. I highly recommend them and am thinking of getting them in red now.
Becomiong my "GO TO BOOT"
I love these boots. I bought them in red to add some color to my black, brown, grey shoes/boot collection. Wasn't quite sure about the color but once I saw them I loved them. The red is a nice deep dark rich red, not bright and goes with everything. I wear jeans mostly and they look wonderful with them, but I can wear them with a nice pair of black (or any color) dress pants and they look just as good. Love the low heel and full rubber bottom. I have bad knees and these are very comfy.
I may have to come back for a second pair or hint to Santa for them.
Give them a little time and they are wonderful
I bought these boots in black 10 wide. At first I noticed they zipped up very tight and rubbed against my leg....I was at first disappointed but instead of giving up I wore them and very quickly these boots became extremely soft and flexible...they are a little stiff out of the box, but after 2 wearings are like they are custom made....my feet love them! They also are very expensive looking and nice for work. They dont rub against my leg anymore either...that stopped a soon as I broke them in and again that was very fast. I would wear these around and you wont be sorry you did as they are nice boots....I love them!
Not What I Expected from Clarks
I too was disappointed in this boot. The shaft rubbed the front of my leg and was not soft. Loved the low heel but had to send it back because of the rubbing on my leg. I hope Clarks will try again.
A Bit Sloppy in the Ankle but COMFORTABLE!
I ordered these in wide as I wear custom orthotics & usually need the extra width. They fit great across the forefoot but are a bit sloppy in the ankle & heel. I had previously ordered another Clark's style in the ankle height & sent them back for the same reason. These were just so darned comfortable through the sole & QVC has such a great return policy that I decided to throw caution to the wind & just wear them. As I said before, they were extremely comfortable & the sloppiness in the ankle didn't seem to be an issue. I wore them with boot socks, taller than the shaft, so there was none of the troublesome rubbing others have complained about (& I don't have skinny calves). Bottom line - they are keepers!
Cute but not comfortable
I really liked the look of these boots and ordered brown with red on waitlist. I too had issues with the shoe hitting my shin and calf. The shin was more an issue with me. I think that if I did not have a high bridge of the foot and less muscular calves these would not have been an issue. For thin legged girls, I do not see them as a problem. I think they would have been worse if not for the elastic panel in the shoe. Never could wear them to the point of feeling comfortable like most of my Clarks so they are coming back unworn. I gave them a three because of fit but the boot is cute.
Love Clark's, but.....
I love Clark's, but do not like these boots at all. Really disappointed because I bought 2 pairs, black & brown. For starters, they look really cheap in person. Can't believe these are real leather. They are more like vinyl. They are not comfortable either. They run large so my heels slide up and down. They also rub my legs raw where they rub with each step. There is no support or padding in these boots. These are definitely not $80 boots. Sorry, Clark's & QVC.
not so happy
I walk on concrete floor and walk a lot. I wanted to try a pair of Clarks boots because the bendable sandals are so comfortable, but the boots were not. I thought they would have more support.
