Surprisingly Intense Wow I have to say this little package took me by surprise. I'm used to the Beachbody programs such as TurboFire, Insanity, P90X, etc. and this program kicked my butt just as much if not more than some of those extreme workouts. Needless to say I'm very impressed with Ms. Freytag as she managed to keep the vibe friendly and motivational throughout - so you are huffing and puffing and praying for the squats to end, but she's there telling you everything's going great lol. I'm 31 and have fallen out of shape, but consider myself an advanced exerciser as I've completed many workout programs before. I have to say, they are not always easy to stick with as they give you 60 or 90 day calendars - but 28 days is so much more easy to see through to the end! I wish the packaging was better - I don't like having to slide my DVD's in an out of cardboard so much, so I put them in their own cases. Plus I have to say the Program doesn't really look like much when you get it, especially if you are used to getting a whole 'kit' in the mail. But, looks can be deceiving, and we shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. I'm going to trust this system to get me beach-ready over the next 2 months! 03-06-13
Wow! Great workouts! I am 54 and have been working out 4 - 6 days a week for 17 years. I have a fitness DVD library, and two of my favorites are TurboFire and TurboJam. I was looking for something new to add to my collection and stumbled upon Chris Freytag through a newsletter from Dr. Mercola (a natural health doctor), and he was singing her praises. I purchased this set, and I am very glad I did. It makes a great addition to my fitness library, and the price was unbelievable. Right now my legs and butt are really sore from the lower body workout, but it feels great. I am very used to working out my lower body, but she included a lot of exercises I had never seen or done before which must have worked little-used muscles. I don't need to lose weight, but I can imagine for those that do, this workout and her food plan would be phenomenal. Chris also gives tips in each othe workouts for people of all fitness abilities, so you can adjust them to your fitness level. Highly recommended! 03-02-13
100 STAR REVIEW After throwing away money on a gym membership which I had no time to go to with my schedule,I wanted to start a fitness plan @ home.I purchased Ten Pound slim down and just after 1 week I lost 3lbs! Love this program! I found Chris Freytag on Exercise TV and did her workouts a few times before that channel went out of business. I tried some of the other workouts on the new fitness channel offered by my cable company but I didn't enjoy them and just knew I wouldn't stick with them. So, I ordered the program from QVC. I am so glad I did. It helped me lose 25-30 lbs. I looked forward to doing it and got stronger and healthier. I watched what I ate but didn't diet; the difference is I was exercising regularly and getting the right mix of cardio and weights. The program is challenging but you can grow into it with different sets of weights. I started with 3, 5, and 8-lb. weights (which I had had for years and never progressed beyond) and now I am using 8s, 10s and 12s. I rarely need the 5s. Chris's cueing and instructions are great. She is upbeat but realistic; she knows it's hard and she encourages you throughout. I like that she is in her 40s and not her 20s....made it seem doable for me. But I know plenty of women in their 20s and 30s who have found it challenging and great for them, as well. LOVE this program and would recommend it to anyone who truly wants to see changes and get in shape! 02-03-13
Great Workouts I have a large library of exercise DVDs and these have found their way to the front of the pack. I was looking for something new to spark my routine and these deliver. They are tough but worth it. You can change the intensity (up or down) by changing your resistance and adding more, or taking out, impact on the power drills. The interval format keeps your heart rate up and makes the workouts fly by. Chris is pleasant and extremely motivating. 11-27-12
Awesome workouts! Well worth the money! These workouts are amazing! Chris freytag keeps you constantly challenged with the circuits! No plateaus!!! I would recommend this workout series for beginners as well as advanced exercisers----can modify moves to fit your needs! Also-there are so many options, I never get bored with the workouts! This workout is amazing!!!!! I have many of Chris Freytag's workout DVD's and this one is my new favorite! I am on day 8 of the plan and wow, I definitely feel results coming! FANTASTIC! LOVE IT. I received the DVD's last Friday and on Saturday I did one of the Yoga practices. It was awesome. Since then, I started on the 4 week plan and I just love each work-out that I've done so far. Each segment really pushes you and boy am I sore all over from the work I've done. Chris is so motivating without sounding like a drill sargeant, and like one of the comments wrote, this is very similar in style to P90X, but for my 51 year old body with arthritis, it is a little less difficult. Less difficult does not mean less challenging, and I am definitely looking forward to seeing the results at the end of the first 4 weeks. As an ex-body builder and aerobics instructor of many years ago, I know a quality work-out, and this program is tops. Thanks QVC and Chris for making this available. 06-13-12
Not for a beginner As a beginner, I found this workout to extreme for my needs. I returned this and found a program suited more to my ability. 06-01-12
Best program I have ever done i began working out with Jane Fonda, then through the years Jazzercise, Hip Hop, Boot Camp, Kickboxing. After 50 I tried walk away the pounds. And though it is a good video. I let myself go and didn't concentrate on my core or cardio. Well, now that I have this Program, believe me I will work out as much as possible beyond my 50's and 60's. It is not to extreme that you cannot keep up. I love the fact that it's just Chris and myself doing this with no distractions, loud music and bouncing women and men in the back ground. 06-01-12
Great workout DVDs I really like Chris Freytag's Slimdown Xtreme workout DVDs. They are enough of a challenge without being so hard that you can't finish! I like her style with transitions as well. Some instructors switch moves without showing what is to come. i also like she is not yelling and being demanding but more of an encouraging instructor, yet firm that you can do it with some determination. I have tried plenty of work out videos and I like these the best! I think they are a fun workout and 40 minutes gives you a great workout. 05-10-12
Chris Freytag 10 Pound Slim Down Xtreme FitnessDVD I have been working out with the product for about 1 week, and thus far each workout has been great. The workouts are challenging but not so challenging that you feel defeated. I like the fact that there are low and high impact options. I will continue using the workouts as they will definitely help me reach my fitness goals. 05-09-12
