I am really disappointed. I'm actually a geologist and labradorite is my favorite mineral because of the beautiful colors and labradorescence it displays. It's very hard to find jewelry premade with this mineral so I was very excited to get it. The piece I received has a very poor quality mineral. I have better hand samples I give to my students to use for their labs. It was mostly a murky washed out taupe with the cleavage very apparent and a large blob of dull dark brownish black on one side that made the mineral look very lopsided. There was none of the beautiful blue and greens and labradorescence that this mineral is known for. I can't believe that somebody selected this mineral and decided to put it in a ring. I would have considered this particular piece waste (rough). Because of the extremely poor quality of the mineral it is basically worthless and not attractive at all. I am immediately sending it back. I don't feel like ordering and reordering until one that is acceptable finally arrives. I can't believe the price on this considering the cheap quality of the mineral. The setting is nice, but that doesn't help if the stone (mineral) is ugly. I have many of Carolyn Pollack's rings that I adore. This one was a huge let down.

I absolutely loved this setting. It was extremely comfortable and beautiful. Unfortunately, I ordered this ring twice hoping I would receive a stone with some blue or green but no luck. The stone was totally grey with no life. So sad but I had to return. I would pay double for this ring with a beautiful stone!

My labradorite ring is beautiful, especially when it catches the light as my hand is moved. It glows and reminds me of how the star of a Star Sapphire moves around. There is a tiny whitish cloud running east-west, so I turn the cloud to face me. Others see an absolutely mesmerizing blue, turquoise, and a bit of rust moving and swirling with the tiniest movement. Now, I do have long fingers and can get away with an east-west set ring because they tend to make fingers look shorter than they are. That is why setting stones in this manner is not the rule but the exception.
This is a perfect ring for denim and, as well, for any turquoise outfit. Each stone will vary, but mine was definitely worth keeping and I have several more expensive pieces of Labradorite set in 14k gold!

I took a chance and I was so surprised by how beautiful the stone and the design of this ring is….just love it.
