Canon Powershot D30 12.1 Megapixel Waterproof Digital Camera is rated 3.1 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stop working after second use in shallow water. I bought this camera in November 2016. I took it snorkeling for 30 minutes or so in January 2017 and it worked fine. I used it a second time in January 2018 and it got water in it and quit working almost immediately. I have bought at least 10 Canon cameras over the years. In fact I just bought a new Canon for Christmas. I am told the warranty is only one year, so I'm out of luck. I read the reviews just now and see I am not along with this problem. So for a new camera to fail so quickly under such limited use is beyond ridiculous. No more Canon cameras for me or my family

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stopped working for no apparent reason This has been used lightly on 2 vacations in shallow water. Camera was thoroughly rinsed in fresh water and dried after each use, battery stored separately. Camera no longer works for no apparent reason. Would have given zero stars if possible -lots of money thrown away.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stopped working while scuba diving I bought this camera a little over a year ago and don't use it very often. I used it for scuba diving in fairly shallow waters one day a year ago and it worked great. Last week, I was scuba diving in @25 feet for about an hour and it stopped working. Water got in it. That's not supposed to happen with a waterproof camera. Very disappointed that I spent so much money on a good camera for it to break on second use. Of course, it's now past warranty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT GREAT CAMERA Love everything about this camera. I bought this for my teenage son who loves taking pictures. I loved the waterproof and shock---dropping--- abilities. This does take really great pictures and this is very very easy to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Underwater Camera I bought this camera 4 years ago on QVC and it's one of the best purchases I've ever made. This camera has been underwater in St. Maarten, Anguilla, St. Barts, Greece, St. Lucia, Martinique, Tahiti, and the British Virgin Islands, where I have taken fantastic underwater shots and videos. The battery is long lasting and I've had no problems with leaks. It does not come with a case, (or mine didn't, that may have changed), so I purchased a simple case myself. It's been banged around on many catamarans, all without any problems. I've had several people ask where I got it, especially when their thousand dollar underwater cameras aren't cooperating. Great job, QVC!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Camera I have taken 10's of thousands of pictures with this camera and use it on multiple underwater vacations. It is the best point and shoot I have ever owned. I inspect homes and commercial buildings with this camera and have never had an issue. I have dropped this camera at least 6 times, including on concrete and it still fully operates. I have 5 additional batteries for back-up when needed in the field. I usually get about 350-400 pics before having to recharge. You need no special training to fully operate this camera, only a working brain. I'll continue to buy this camera as long as it's made. Thank you Canon!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Has a real o-ring seal... For the money, 5 stars! Had A Nikon Nightmare: AW120 had a loose hinge design. Failed on 2nd snorkel, The Nikon refirb replacement failed on the 1st use underwater. The soft rubber contact points for a seal are designed to fail on many amphibious cameras, like cheaper Fuji's and Nikons. The D30 has a real o-ring band, that always seats for a good seal (for each door). 50 dives and snorkel sessions to 50-70 feet, no probs yet on this one. Great color, auto-focus, and an UW macro mode. Cool!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Screen quit in less than two years. I used this camera in all seasons for about a year and a half. It took great pics & video. In winter, for skiing, you had to keep the battery warm to get it to work. In warmer months & locations it did well also, worked the first year underwater But on a recent trip to the Caribbean this spring, the display screen went blank. Canon estimated it would cost more than half of what I could but=y a new one for. So, not sure I want to invest anymore of my money in Canon, if a year and a half is all I am going to get out of this D30.
