I received the item and found out you could not use camera cards to print from. Never did find the USB port that it says there is one.

Sure I would love to have a $1,000 printer in my office but this was closer, by far, to my budget. Because of the cost of ink I have been frugal about using it so far. What I have ran through has been terrific.. Photography is what I do, my passion. A few times a year I do art shows and of course, for large work I have to use a commercial company to print my work. The great thing about my Pixma is I can run proofs, so to speak, to get an idea how my larger works will appear. Or of course do smaller jobs when necessary.

The Pixma IP8720 is a printer that can print photos up to 13” x 19”. Canon states that this printer is for people that take their photography seriously; however, it is not a “Prosumer” model.
Canon is wrong!! I have a Canon Pixma Pro-100 inkjet printer and this Pixma IP8720 out performs it. When I compared the output from both printers the pictures from the IP8720 are as good or better.
I am so glad that I waited for this printer to go on sale at QVC and purchased it on “easy pay”.

Just finished my first set of art poster prints with the pixma iP8720 and they look gorgeous!! I was nervous about the wireless set up because I'd read a few bad reviews but I had absolutely no trouble at all, it was all set up and hooked up within 15 minutes. I'm using 11x17 luster photo paper and they print a lot faster than I would have imagined. So far I'm loving this printer!!

Bought 4 months ago. I love the way the ink tanks are configured! The Black Pigment cartridge is strictly for Text. The printer is smart enough to know when to use it. That saves the Black Dye (photo) ink. Each color is replaced individually, as needed, saving money. All 6 of the ink tanks can use a regular size or an XL (extra capacity) size. The ink goes a long way compared to my previous HP printer and the photos look great. I also love the way the ink cartridges have an LED that flashes when it needs to be replaced, so you easily find and replace the correct cartridge. A steady light means it is working correctly. I don't print borderles, so I can't comment on that, but I do print 13 x 17 format and have had no problems. I don't use any of the wireless capability either, might someday. Love it, love it, love it.
Rated 4 out of 5 by humdrum Good printer - ink configuration confusing
The printer is highly rated and works well however ordering ink is made confusing because two (2) black ink cartridges are necessary: a regular-sized black ink cartridge and an XL black ink cartridge: the printer won't work without both cartridges installed and with adequate ink. So if you order your printer with 4 refill cartridges, as I did, you will still find yourself unable to print unless you also ordered a refill XL black ink cartridge. Strangely Canon does not seem to sell a complete refill set of ink cartridges.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Steve Fast, Nice Quality, No Wireless Success
Very pleased with the quality and speed of printing, however it has never been recognized on our home network Wi-Fi. We can see every other computer and even the neighbor's printer, but not this one. It's almost like the Wi-Fi function was left out completely.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Ramiro Unable to connect to network
I tried to connect the printer to the network with 2 Mac, 2 PC, 1 iPhone, never connected to the network, the instructions in Spanish are not clear, they say things inconsistent. It's a shame that I have to go back, because if you have very beautiful prints.
