Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM Lens is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 50.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great professional lens. The canon L series lens are some of the most sought after lens in the world of photography. This lens is super sharp from corner to corner. Once you have a lens of this quality you will see the difference when you compare your photo shots with other lens that you may own. I have used this lens for about a week and have not been disappointed. I have used it in landscape, and nature photography. All of my photos have been wonderful. Also all L series lens come with a lens hood, and bag. The description of this lens does not show this in the information in regards to this lens. I highly recommend this lens if you are an avid photography.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall excellent - but bad ghosts at night Outstanding performance in well-lit situations. However not good for taking photos of the moon, sunsets with bright clouds, or night shots with bright lights. In these cases it produces a very obvious ghost image for each light source. Many of the online reviews either don't mention this ghost problem, or brush over it as inconsequential. I think it spoils night photograph in a major way. Unfortunately the ghost does not appear in the viewfinder, so one cannot compose the picture to reduce the effect. Instead one has to view the image after shooting to see how bad the ghost may be, then try another shot to move the ghost to a less critical position. Then afterwards crop the image to cut out the ghost. This is not what I expected from this lens. So I think this is a great lens, but not for high contrast situations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Impressive! I finally got to put this lens through it's paces on a vacation in Costa Rica. The images are outstanding on my 70D. I was extremely happy with the images from EF-S 55-250 STM, but is "L" lens took my photos to another level. I never looked at a photo from corner to corner .. but wow, now I get it. The focus is instant the images are extremely sharp, bright, colorful and simply stunning. I'm becoming more in tune with my photo's and since I shoot mostly family stuff and outdoors this lens is perfect. It's larger than my other telephoto and I lose some reach, but I could not be happier. I put some raw images into lightroom for post processing .. found very little to do .. My plan is to move to full frame when Canon finally updates the 6D but for now .. this is great on the 70D. I must admit I'm truly amazed, !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All the 5 ratings are justified My first and only L lens, this zoom exceeds my expectations, amazingly sharp at all apertures. It fits into my smallish camera bag, and is rather light. Minor distortion at the extreme ends is easily dealt with in processing software. Unless you have an EG-D screen with lines (5D and 6D SLRs), or call up the "level" in Live View, frame a little large, so that you don't lose image area cropping after straightening your horizon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favorite and Most Reliable Lens I have had 70-200L lenses for the past 8 years starting with a f4L non-IS. Around 2 years ago I upgraded to the f4L IS version. I was highly impressed with the colors and sharpness on my original 70-200 but my IS copy makes those look dull and soft. The IS, despite being one of Canon's older IS technologies, does make a difference. As for the sharpness, it really can't be beat. My 70-200 is perfect proof as to why this range lens is regarded as one of Canon's best L zoom lenses on the market. I have found it to be sharpest between f/7.1-9, but have had no issues with the sharpness even when being used wide open at that f/4. I personally recommend this lens to anyone and everyone. If you don't have a 70-200 L in your gear bag, you really are missing out.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No working for me Hard to take a good shot with this lens. I keep reading reviews saying "crisp" and clear with great color saturation, yet I find just the opposite. Severe focus issues, poor color and overall cheap looking shots, Ironically, I switch back to the inexpensive 75-300mm that came with my camera (T3i) and I'm back to outstanding pictures. Very frustrating. Thought maybe it was my imagination, but this was my second half day shoot that produced suboptimal shots. Really want to like this lens. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Have a lemon?
