Calista Tools Ion Hot Hair Rollers - Medium Refill
Please, please restock the Calista medium hair roller refill. I ordered the Calista set for long hair and also ordered a medium roller refill. I find I like the medium rollers the best. I have looked everywhere for the medium roller refill kit, but to no avail. I would rate this product a five star if the refills were readily available.
I think these rollers are to expensive. I have to order more, because 12 is not enough for my hair. It would be nice to have bigger rollers. These work good, but not any better than other brands I have used.I have to roll half of my hair and then take out processed ones and reheat rollers. Not real convenient. So you have to go to more expense to get enough rollers. The long ones are would make to tight of a curl. I am giving a 3 star for the inconvenience and expense of these rollers. If you ;have short hair these would be perfect. I would not recommend these because of the expense involved.
Love this rollers but please please make a larger diameter size. I'm not talking soup can size but two inch wide would be fabulous for those of us who don't want such a tight curl with the purple ones. Thanks Maria!!
I love these rollers. Now I have the long ones and the medium for the top of my head. Calista tools should definitely make a mixed set with a larger base. Its not that big of a deal to switch the rollers because they heat up fast but it would still be more convenient. They are by far the best rollers on the market.
Best Hot Roller Set
I have been using Calista Hot Rollars for 18 months now and they work for me so much better that other hot rollers in maintaining the curl in my hair for 2 days. I had the long blue ones and now that my hair is getting longer - (about 3in below my shoulders) - I need to switch up to the larger diameter size. It might have been cheaper to buy a whole new set because - I like the amount of curl with the purple ones so will probably order another 4 rollers. I also like the fact that this is much smaller and packs well when traveling as opposed to other sets which are big and cumbersome to pack. Can you make the purple diameter in the long roller length?
Hit and Miss
I think that these rollers are both a hit and a miss. The rollers heat quickly, hold their heat and curl my thin, fine hair nicely. I get a very good, long lasting curl. The annoying part are the clips. I really can't stand them. They flip flop from side to side(on side of my head and in the back) and up and down (on top of my head). No matter what I do they don't hold tightly enough so as to not move. Please come up with some pins like the old fashioned hot rollers used to have. I'm going to a beauty supply store to get some. If it weren't for those clips, I would have given these 5 stars.
Finally! Something that Works!
Calista Hot Rollers is the best styling product I have ever used! My shoulder length, fine hair finally holds a curl and gives me great body that lasts all day (no drooping at 3pm). My hair shines and looks healthy. Wish this was around years ago. A must-buy for those with fine hair! While the unit only heats six rollers at a time, you can always replace an extra roller while rolling your hair, so another is always hot for use.
calista hot hair rollers medium set
I liked the set but the only problem is the 1" barrel (grey) rollers are so small and leave a tight curl . I had to order more of the 1 l/2 " barrel (purple) because doing 6 rollers at a time and waiting for my hair to curl and placing them back on the unit to heat up again takes more time than I have.
I feel they should give the option to order the size barrel roller that you want. Now I have 6 of the small that I do not use and I had to spend another $25.00 plus shipping for just 4 more rollers!
P,S. Note:: If you order the large blue rollers, they are still only 1" in barrel size.
Room for improvement
While I like the purple, med-sized rollers, it is difficult to make them stay put. Hope Calista Tools brings out a base that holds 8-10 rollers. I have short, fine, thin, color-treated hair, and the rollers do a good job on the days I do not shampoo. However, for the days I do shampoo, a curling iron works best.
As another user suggested, I wish that there would be an automatic turn-off component to the unit that I purchased (the heating unit with medium and small rollers). Also, the curl achieved is very good, however, because my hair is very fine and curls easily, I do need rollers that are larger in diameter than the small or medium size to give me more fullness-- especially as my hair grows between trims. Getting the roller to "stay put" without falling forward is a real trick. I will probably keep the unit as it provides some benefit after a new hair-cut but I am still wondering if it was a wise purchase.
Great extra add ons !!
I'm looking at these rollors as a long term investment.. I am happy with the long ones as I bought them with the base and an extra set of the mediums for some shorter areas around my face, and for some extra height in my crown. I am very happy with these hot rollers.
The Calista hair curling system is AWESOME! Very lightweight, easy to pack and go!
Heats up quick, easy to handle, sets quickly and can set my very thick and heavy hair! I bought the "short": hair set hoping it would work with my extremely heavy long hair so that I wouldn't have the bulky product to pack for travel. I was very fortunate that the short magenta curlers worked for me. The greys were too small for my use, so I purchased the extra magenta rollers to complete the set. I would have never purchased a hair curler set for $150.... But since I tried two others at $29 and $39 thinking that they would work and I was saving money..... They both were returned!
Unfortunately the only downfall is their plastic claw-type securing clips. They were too small to clasp all of my hair and support the rolled hair. I use the metal plastic tipped clips from my old dead Revlon set...
None-the-less, this is a great product!
These products I have purchased and I recommend for hair care and styling....
