Rated 1 out of 5 by Jo-D Spray too strong
I have used Calista hair spray before, but this time the spray messes up my hair instaead of firming the hair in place. I have tried holding the can at arms length but it still doesn't help. The spray is too powerful, I look as though I have been out in the wind after using it.

I have really benefited from all the Calista products, so I accepted the presentation w/o question. Like the other reviewers, I find that it doesn't have any hold value at all, despite repeated applications on my baby fine, thin hair. Certainly NOTHING like shown on the models. I was on waitlist for a long time and was able to get 4 cans on 5 easy pays, with the total was $81.00. The point of me sharing this is, I can't return them because, my husband opened the box and saw the bill and had a hissy!! I had to tell him what a wonderful product it was and worth the money! Also, the shipping would be expensive. cweir

I watched the presentation and being a black woman I was excited to see this product used on black hair. However, I was greatly disappointed because it did not preform for me as it did on the hair of the model. I did not send the product back. I just gave it to a friend.

I would give no stars if I could. "Hold" is virtually nonexistent and isn't that why most people use hairspray? Product seems to go quickly also due to wide over spray angle.
Back to Nick Chavez, which I love, except for nozzle clogging now and then. Thought I would give Calista a try. Not even close to the same league...

This review considers the "perfector" as well. "FOOL ME ONCE SHAME ON YOU ... FOOL ME TWICE SHAME ON ME!" I ordered a Perfector several months ago. It just didn't work. So I sent it back. When I saw the demo again I reordered with some of this hairspray because I was told that was the only way the perfector would work and the "bump" would bump. I remembered reading in the small print in the perfector instructions to spray EVERY patch of hair. The hairspray was NOT mentioned during any of the demos. Well ... DARN. I do not like spray in my hair. I use WEN exclusively and my hair looks great. I have 82 year old gray hair that has never been colored or permed. I have lot of body (thanks to WEN) and some pretty waves, thanks to my Mom. My hair is soft, touchable and full. What was I thinking??? I was lured by Shawn to try and get more of a bump on the back of my head. Phooey! I am through ordering and paying for the return. I didn't use enough to get the smell others mentioned, just enough to realize this is not for me.

I have bug sprays that smell better than this product.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Jiri Great spray but,
I love love love this spray, it leaves your hair soft but holds the style. I have poker straight hair and use Calista tools rollers, then on comb out I use this spray. My only problem is that it sprays out with such velocity that it blows my hair out of its style. I keep holding it further away but still feel like I am being hit with an air gun. The spray is awesome it's just the velocity of the sprayer that needs work.

Sent it back. After you spray your hair I will say that it was soft to the touch, but it did not provide very good hold. Also it was advertised as having a light scent. Not so. The scent was evident for several hours after spraying. Also, I felt like as I sprayed my hair most of the spray was winding up on the floor due to the wide mist that it had. Was really wanting this to work to replace a more expensive spray I use, but had to send it back.
