Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still sound fantastic after 20 years of use/abuse I purchased my series 3's over 20 years ago and people still comment on the quality of the sound they produce. Wide stereo spread that fills the room, beautifully balanced sound and incredible high end clarity even when fully cranked. Huge sound for their size that surrounds you from all angles when properly placed. Extremely durable considering the abuse they have endured being pushed to the limit and beyond at countless parties over the years. Very natural sound that complements any style of music and the 65w per channel yamaha amp I purchased with them is a perfect match. Ive never really considered upgrading and cant imagine ever parting with my 301's. They are that good and as a musician my ears are well trained and not easily satisfied. I love my 301's so thanks Professor Bose for giving myself and my mates so much aural pleasure over the years your a bloody legend in my book RIP.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for Music - Using in Stereo Setup Bought the pair for my Stereo setup which I am building as I am primarily into music and not movies as of now. Paired it with a new Denon AVR X2300 setup and I finally found the soul statisfying classical music coming the way I always wanted. Warmth in music notes and clear-crisp rendering of musical instruments; including Yo-Yo-Ma and Sitar of Anoushka Shankar. Have plans to add a Sub woofer in future; but I feel I am not missing anything for sure. It has 8" Woofer and 2 twitters in L-R channels each. So it covers most ranges. One thing to note; your AV Receiver and room acoustic makes a lot of difference and you probably need to run calibration for AV setup. YPAO from Yamaha receivers and Audessey from Denon can make a whole lot of difference to your music. Few people may achieve this through manual setup of tones as well. If you are one, no need for YPAO or Audessey. On observation b/c of which I cut one star is that I cannot keep them very far apart- more than 10 Fts separation, as music seems to be lose its charm. And it could be due to my room or absence of a separate subwoofer in the setup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Six years, and I still love these speakers I bought these years ago.. I still really like these speakers. I have them paired with a Pioneer SX-850. I've had other older speakers (Ohm, Advent ect) paired with this receiver and I always find myself using the 301's anyway.. Something about the way they sound. Audio is always situational, but I find for most instances these speakers are perfect. They've held up very well, considering the amount of time they spent with me while attending college.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wicked I love this speakers they sound full and amazing. I use a stereo yamaha RN500 to power them and they sound amazing. No need for a subwoofer because the bass is really deep and low. You just can't deny the goodness of the sound. I highly recommend these speakers. I had the series IV and bought these ones for upgrade. I wonder what the next series would look and sound like. Thank you Bose.
