H168691 - Bombay Classic 33" "James the Butler" Serving Tray
This butler is great. He's even better looking than the original James that was at Bombay Company! Love this butler!
James is AWESOME!
I stumbled across James while in my search for Nicolette the serviette. While searching I came across lots of others looking for her as well. So while including Bombay in search QVC came up. Well James is totally different but just as classy and unique as Nicolette who was made in the 80"s for a lot more money. But she was so glamorous. At my recent New Years Eve party people were drinking a little too much and taking pictures with James. Any how he is really a welcome addition to our home.
He will make you smile
Recieved him today and only took maybe 5 minutes to put him on the stand and mount the tray on him. He is so much better looking than the original Bentley the Butler I had in the 80's. I was also lucky to be able to purchase Millie the Red Headed maid that goes so well with him. You won't regret bringing him home to serve you, and everyone will ask where you got him from. Thanks QVC for bringing Bombay to us.
At the store, he was known as "Bentley" but if he now wants to be called James, that's fine! I already have James and Sir Charles, so he's a welcome addition at a great price. Now, if you could only get the maid for my collection!
A real conversation piece!
So glad QVC has this available at such a reasonable price. Years ago in the original Bombay stores, this item was close to $200.00 or more. For years I wanted to get "James the Butler," but didn't want to pay that exorbitant price from Bombay. Mine arrived, well packed for shipping, no chips, denting or scratches, but wrapped well and easy to put together. I might suggest in putting a black felt in the tray for cushioning and to ward off any scratches. The finish appears to be a bit thin, but with care, James will be in my house, holding a Maidenhair fern at the foyer. Thanks QVC for bringing James back into my life...he is such a character to behold.
Favorite piece of furniture - and he has glasses!!
This is an utterly charming piece of furniture. Not only that, it is EXTREMELY well made. It is very easy to put together (approximatley 5 minutes) and is sturdy and sits well on carpet. This is hands down my favorite piece of furniture right now.
Perfect Touch of Whimsy!
They say every room should have one touch of whimsy . . . and "James the Butler" fills the bill. Expertly made, consistent with many other Bombay furniture pieces we already own. So thrilled to see Bombay at QVC. Always wanted a butler for my home and now I have one in the most affordable way. You can decorate him any which way for the seasons to greet your guests, by personalizing what he offers on his tray. Also, plan to add a red scarf around his neck at holiday time to greet guests at the door. Don't hesitate on this. Bombay items are of outstanding quality and workmanship with minimal assembly.
My very own Butler
James arrived today...a very charming guy! It was a little difficult lining up the tray to the screw holes, but I eventually tightened the screws. James looks great where ever I put him. He is currently in my family room offering guests chocolate candy from a cut glass bowl. His face is very detailed and proper. I think James is just a perfect conversational piece for any home..
Warm, whimsical and welcoming!
This is an absolutely adorable display piece. This butler's face is much friendlier than the original Bombay butler and adds a nice warm touch to any room. I've seen this same model selling on auction sites for over $300, so this a great deal. I absolutely love the whimsical touch "James the Butler" adds to my home. It's a great conversation piece and you can't help but smile every time you walk by him. And you can be so creative with the tray by putting drinks on it, candy, books, appetizers ( to name a few). I can't think of a better way to say "Welcome" to your guests!
